The structure of the house is modern and although every house is very similar, they are unique in there own little way.
My personal favourite aspect of the house is the open plan design as it automatically makes the house appear larger and executes character.

The area is situated in the borough of Wolverhampton. Convenient local shops and extremely close to the city centre.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

N/A As I viewed the house several times prior to moving in.

The buildings are beautiful, very aesthetically pleasing but there are many faults in the house with snagging and problems with getting issues resolved! We have an ongoing battle with trying to get multiples issues resolved! Although we do have someone who goes round and does the gardening at the front of the houses and litter picking so this is very good!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Our development is in an ideal location, close to wolverhampton city centre with plenty of bars, take always and local transport networks including; bus, train and tram.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We didn’t have a viewing because of the virus but we wish we could have got room dimensions etc. But one thing I wish we knew when we moved in was the issues with getting your bins emptied when moving in to a new build

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes but takes a VERY long time for problems to be resolved

I am really happy with the property overall. I think it’s great value for money. The design my garden could be better for example the slabbing. I have barley any space for a table and chairs currently.

Also, there’s been times where it’s been difficult to get hold of support after hours. And I have been waiting for maintenance work now for several months.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location is great for me, close to the city centre. There are great shops near by (walking distance). I like the space I have for parking and the the way that the plot is maintained. With beautiful plants and surrounding scenery. It feels safe and peaceful for me. I love the location.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The lack of storage space. Also I thought that the back garden would be maintained too.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

All have been responded to. However, no action was taken. Even though my portal says there was.

The design of the property is fabulous. A beautiful home for a family I must say. Going through the management to rent the property was pretty straight forward and easy. But it’s really takes time to get the team to respond to problems of repairs if need be.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Very nice location, very close to the train station, good schools, local transport and convient stores.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I choose the property with bigger rooms than me. Had the opportunity to see my neighbour’s house and found out they have bigger rooms than mine.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The management responds to problems raised most of the time but no in a timely manner.

Should have solar panels. No point tenant paying for sky windows in the kitchen if your not going to provide the poles to open the windows. Different colour carpets would brighten up the inside so you could have different tymed rooms instead of grey all the way through

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Development should have a decent bar/ restaurant on site and a shop. All local shops and bars are not pleasant.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The amount of paperwork involved

What is the best feature of your home:

Kitchen downstairs toilet. Parking and privacy. Front garden maintenance

Hi Sanj,

Thank you for leaving a review for your development.

Your feedback on the sky windows is very useful – we will feed this in to the spec team. In regards to the carpet, we completely appreciate that it isn’t very colourful, but we aim to keep it quite neutral so that artwork and colourful dressing can be added by our residents to make it their own and to suit everyone’s tastes.

We’re delighted to hear that you’re pleased with your kitchen, the garden maintenance and the privacy in your home.

The homes are very nice and modern and the estate is well looked after. There is no park or play area for kiddies so the neighbour’s children play in the street but other than that no complaints on property management. Grass outside the properties is maintained and cut often.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great to be living right across from the canal, although the surrounding area is quite industrial and the main street has a lot of speeding cars. A few cars on the estate have been stolen or broken into and a few suspicious people around now and again, although I haven’t experienced this myself.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Ask how neighbors that surround you are in general, there are a few residents that seem a little less friendlier than others and some that aren’t as keen on estate rules and regulations

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Ideally I would prefer not to be located near industrial factories and would prefer better safety measures such as Cctv cameras or private security for the estate as it isn’t the safest area

Home itself is a dream, wish I could pick it up and drop it in a nice area

Verified Resident

Review Date Jul 2021

The house itself is spacious and aesthetically appealing, with large garden space. The appliances and kitchen spec are fantastic, lovely flooring and layout.
Having an installed alarm system is peace of mind in the area we live in.
Maintenance is addressed swiftly and any concerns addressed professionally.
The lawn is not desirable unfortunately as it has been laid on rubble it is hard to keep healthy.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The good aspects would be the amount of corner shops available within 2-5 minute walking distance, including being located near stores such as Dunelm and B&M.

Transport links to the city centre are poor if you do not drive. There are no bus routes to the city centre within safe walking distance. Safer to walk the 20 – 25minutes into the city. There are no bars or restaurants in the area unless you make the trip to the city centre.
The development itself is very nice, usually kept clean and lawns are mowed regularly. However as soon as you set foot off the development it’s a rough, unsightly and unclean area. Our home also looks into an industrial estate. The connecting entrance road to the development has a speeding issue if I were to have children or pets I’d had concerns letting them outside.
As someone who does not drive I find it a great concern when going to the shops and work on foot within the area our development is located in.

Other residents street parking is a common issue in front of homes and blocking footpaths.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew how unsafe I would have felt leaving the development.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I would move it to a desirable area, being next to an industrial estate and an a rough neighbourhood isn’t pleasant.

Best Landlord experience we have ever had!

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jul 2021

We absolutely love our new home. The design is very well thought out however there is always room for improvement. Things we think should be improved upon;
1. There are no sockets in the bathroom. This makes charging things such as electric toothbrushes and shavers just slightly inconvenient.
2. We live in a standard weaver, and the kitchen layout in the weaver is a bit tricky when it comes to table-top appliances. If you think about it, most people have at minimum a toaster, a microwave, and a kettle. Many people also have some sort of coffee machine. I find that once you have all these appliances out on the tabletop, you are left with very little useful counter space. Perhaps moving forward if some space could be left for these items, perhaps an empty shelf space the size of a microwave oven, that would help tremendously.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

What we like about our area: Lots of young families, two nearby shops, the streets inside our development are lovely.
What we dislike: right outside our development it seems a bit derelict. We are hoping that having such development will improve the surrounding area in the future.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long it takes currently to get new furniture orderred! currently, in most places new furniture takes 15-20 weeks to be delivered due to brexit and covid.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

First of all, we are really fond of the repairs website , it makes it very easy to log a maintenance issue whenever it arises and is convenient. We log an issue, and usually within 24h we have a reponse from our landlord, if not a time and date for repairs then at least an acknowledgement of our logged issue which is superb.

James Mill way simple life estate- a fantastic and to see.

I live in Gotham design which everyone would agree its probably the best of the designs here .lolz. this is just a personal opinion though but then its is expected as it is completely detached house. spacious as it could be thus if you have kids, you would love it as they have space to play around. the estate design itself is fantastic, good drainage system and very clean.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

the estate is very cool place to live, very close to city centre with good access to transport for both tram and buses. Antisocial behaviour have been reported at the junction to the estate but again not within the estate. if you like a quiet place , away from noisy neighbours and also good access to city centre, this might be perfect for you. the refuse collector have been very good, initially they weren’t coming for the garden waste perhaps been relatively new environment, but after making complaints I’d give them 5* .

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

ward robe. I did thought the second room has got wardrobe . I think It would be very good if this was included in the building.

to builders I’d say the single 3rd room could be more spacious than that giving how massive the master bedroom is…but this is a personal opinion.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

in all honesty I have not had to raise any issues for now.

The houses are relatively well built – some of the furnishings and walls etc could have done with a bit more attention to detail, the management of any issues however has been handled extremely well. The gardens are laid which cheap turf which makes upkeep quite difficult.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

James Mill Way Development is only a short 15min walk into to the city centre which has everything you need, it’s apparently in the not so desirable area of All Saints but we’ve found it perfectly pleasant.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Having rented for over 15 years I felt very prepared and it being a new build meant there was little to worry about.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Being able to plant in the garden would be beneficial. As well as use the loft for storage.

The development is very nice, the houses are very high spec and finished beautifully (floors, walls etc)
The kitchens come pretty much fully equipped.
The rooms are a good size, and the bathrooms come with a shower and a bath.
Overall i am very happy with the house and the estate.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There are a couple of shops very close to our estate and we are only 15 minutes (walking) from wolverhampton town center. So you can go shopping, eating, drinking and working very easily.
There is also a tram stop 5 minutes away, as well as several bus stops.
Very little anti social behaviour, and the roads are generally fairly quiet.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When i moved it was during covid so i wish i had had more time to view the house. I have lived in the area for my whole life so i knew the area very well.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have not had to raise any issues yet but im sure when i do there will be no problems.
