Greenwich Millennium Village is located close to the River Thames in the Greenwich Peninsula and features a range of one, two and three-bedroom luxury apartments. The development offers easy access to the 02 arena and Canary Wharf as well as nearby transport links into Central London via North Greenwich station with the Jubilee line. The Emirates Air Line is also only a fifteen-minute walk away from the ever-popular Millennium Village, Greenwich’s pioneering scheme that has since seen the transformation of the area.

If you want a community move here

Review Date Mar 2018

We moved to London 18 months ago as my husband works in Canary Wharf. As a family we wanted to ensure we were close by and he wasn’t commuting big distances but we had a home and community to support us as we have no family in the UK. Many developments we looked at felt like they were just a faceless high rise and we wanted to make friends and meet like minded people. Greenwich Millennium Village has been perfect for us, with so many facilities on site and the open park areas you don’t feel that you are living in a city. We have also made lots of friends through the nursery and primary school.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in: I was not familiar with London before moving here and did not appreciate how far east Canary Wharf is. The tube is a 20 minute walk away (with a buggy!) and it feels like a big commitment to visit central London.

Nursery is excellent

Review Date Mar 2018

The nursery – Millennium minis – is wonderful. We had to wait quite a while to get a place and with the new developments planned on site you should get on the waiting list as soon as you decide to move here. The atmosphere is very friendly and kids feel comfortable. They go for a walk twice a day and there is an ecology park nearby with a pond which they love. When they are indoors there are plenty developmental activities. The nursery has an electronic tracking system so I can check how my baby sleeps or what she has had for lunch. Ladies who work there are always open to discuss with you any concern and Ben always ask the parents what can be improved.
We are very happy living here.

Not our dream but safe and good

Review Date Mar 2018

Previously I would have said that the Millennium Village is ok, but a bit lacking in soul. However there has been a lot of investment in the last 6 years to bring more facilities and life to the development with the new plans proposed so when we considered renting prices in the area we decided to move here. Greenwich millennium village feels safe and the school is excellent. There are lots of beautiful open spaces to enjoy with the children and the links to public transport are excellent. We tend to use the jubilee line which is literally on your doorstep or take a bus into Charlton or Greenwich – really easy to find and very frequent.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It’s a bit of an island and it doesn’t really join up with other neighbourhoods but upcoming further development will improve that as they bring everything together.

My take on GMV

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Feb 2020

Mine is the 2nd stage where it is next to a bus lane. I am not sure if it is how the building is structured or not being built properly, every time a bus drive by I can feel the vibration through the glass and the floors which gets annoying in night time. Also sound proofing is not that great either which is not helping. The apartment building that I am in does not have lift and being on the top floors means I have to walk up and downs those stairs every day despite I am paying the same management fees compare to other building in the same developments that has a lift.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Lots of shops around, cinema and IKEA both in walking distance. Two bus station away from North Greenwich tube station.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The toilet does not have an extraction system that they say it is a passive one and does not suck out any of the moisture or smell at all which is annoying.

What is the best feature of your home:

Very spacious one bed flat and feature a shared garden at the back of the apartment flat.

Great place to live!

Review Date Feb 2019

I recently moved in to this amazing place and I fall more in love with it each day that I am here. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly! The move in process was so easy and stress free. The apartments are beautiful and having a parking garage and gym in the building makes this place feel like home! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to live!”

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great place! Massive transport links. Massive shopping centre. Could be a bit overcrowded and noisy!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Council tax price higher !

Best flat choice ever

Review Date Oct 2018

We were thw first tenants to move in. We have a brand new flat with amazing view of Canary Wharf and beautiful twilight views.
The flat is spacious and quite and neighbourhood is great too, everything is nearby, from tube station to O2 arena and shopping mall..anything you need!
Concierge open 24/7 is a great service as well.
Paying very competitive rent for one bed flat in zone 2

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like that everything is at walking distance from tibe station to shopping, with park right in front of buildings development.
If anything that I dislike is that there are a lot of contructions work going on at the moment that may affect a little on the appereance of the area and the dust on windows

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Not sure really. No bad surprises

real sense of community

Review Date Mar 2018

I lived in millennium village and it’s 15 mins walk to the park and you can get the bus there too. I would highly recommend the area. If I hadn’t moved abroad, I would never have moved out of that area. A lovely school there too, if you’re planning on having kids. It has a real sense of community and lots of things are organised near the ecology park for kids. My daughter had lots of friends there and we loved it.

We loved it

Review Date Mar 2018

We rented one of the penthouse flats overlooking the river in Millennium village – it was amazing! High ceilings, stunning views, easy commute and great facilities. We have only moved because we were buying and couldn’t afford the space we had become accustomed to.

TO AVOID!!!!!

Review Date Jun 2020

We were signing the paper for the exchange, luckily the day before we decided to scout also this hidden corner, with a very bad surprise: graffiti, trash everywhere and poor H&S conditions (check Google maps to have an idea, Horn Link Way). The GWM didn’t inform us on purpose, they even didn’t accompany us to the flat (this was before Covid-19) and the WWW is testimonial. I personally struggle to understand how this kind of rub are allowed, they are partner with Major of London. GMW told us gypsy have been there since 10 year plus, but “they didn’t do anything wrong”… This last sentence evidences 2 main things: prejudice and lies, as if you check the WWW it is unbelievable the amount of relevant topics you can find about thefts, violence, fires, **** and **** on the street, disassembled bicycles and whoever has more.
And we are still fighting to receive back out deposit! They simply do not care about you. Worse experience ever, they simply play with your savings, pocket, lives and integrity.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great area, but watch out from the east river side, just after the yacht club on the new walk path. There is a gypsy camp with very poor hygienic condition and a outdoor landfill.

Brand new development in a green setting

Review Date Sep 2017

Greenwich Millenium Village (GMV) is a massive new development located on the Greenwich peninsula comprised of terraced houses, mid rise buildings, and high rise buildings. The development is comprised of units ranging from studios to 4 bedrooms. The amenities found in the development are 24 hour concierge and security, a large park, and multiple playgrounds. However the development lacks other amenities (such as a pool or gym) found in similar developments. GMV will also be serviced by new commercial businesses opening in the development, as well as a primary school. The units in GMV are good quality, with secured entry, open floor plans, builtin wardrobes, hardwood floors in some areas, carpets in the bedrooms, and Smeg kitchen appliances. Some of the units have balconies and views of Canary Wharf. While some of the properties have a good aspect, allowing them to be bright, other units do not and some even face an industrial site. Parking is also offered for free for 3 bedroom units and for some terraced houses, 2 spots are offered.
In terms of location, Greenwich Millenium Village is located in close proximity to North Greenwich tube station (Jubilee Line) and the Emirates Air Line, allowing for relatively quick access to Canary Wharf and Central London. It is also located close to Millenium Leisure Park, which has shops, a cinema, and restaurants and the O2 Stadium.
Prices of units start at GBP400,000 and can go up to GBP900,000 depending on the unit. The units are all leasehold and are offered on 999 year leases. The groundrents vary between GBP300 GBP500 per year. There is also a service charge based on the unit.
