Good but expensive

The design of my flat is very nice, although it’s not very big.. I like the outside of the building , the greenery is pretty and it’s kept well and clean. I am quite disappointed with security, there could be more CCTV around and monitoring .it is very expensive too

Noise from the airport is bad.. great design

Love it!

Even if the park in the development is never clean.. I would say disgusting… I really like leaving here. I was grown in Canning Town and I feel like it’s getting better and better. I live in this new development and I like my flat, the design is okay.. and it’s easy to take my kids to school

School is close… but there are no shops around

Still a lot of issues but it improved

Verified Resident

I have lived here for 25 years and I must say that the area was terrible decades ago. It’s surprising to think how much it improved and got better now. I live here and I also manage both the school and the new development and I know that there are several issues. But at the same time we got a new school, brand new buildings.. I am glad to see improvements over the years.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s nice but it’s still E16… and the crime rate is seriously high.

Nice building and location

Living here is nice… I had a few issues with the maintenance , I was always satisfied with it. My flat is good , modern, big… Even the area is nice and the community is friendly. The only bad thing on which I would complain is the road here nearby, it’s very noisy and loud.. also, London city airport is close and sometimes I feel like if I was in a terminal!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Noise coming from airport is annoying
I like this community

Nice neighbourhood

I like the fact that we are a big and mixed community. Me and my sister have a lot of friend coming from different races here and it’s very fun, they’re all very friendly. Transport is okay but sometimes if you’re late you must take the cab… Canning Town station is quite far. My flat is alright.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Very nice people no shops

Diverse area

Canning Town has changed a lot because of our developments. And they’re still constructing a lot…. what I like from here is the diversity of the people, a lot of mixed races live here and for me it’s something very nice

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Diversity of ethnicities is something good. There aren’t any shops around

Happy with my modern flat but expensive

The area around the development is very big but it’s so nice that we all know each other! It’s like a big family.. and my neighbours are all friendly and nice. I know that Canning Town is dangerous but I have always felt safe.. And I’ve lived here for 8 years? Compared to the one before, this new flat is SO much better …it’s expensive but it’s worth paying more for this

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I love the neighbourhood. But there aren’t many shops around

Improvements

I used to live here before and the area got so much better. The new development and school are giving life to Canning Town.. our flat is spacious and I can’t really complain. However, we need transport. Transportation links are terrible.. the jubilee line is almost 20 minutes away from here and buses are not good to move around London because of the traffic

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Transport is bad. Lack of shops

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I am just happy and satisfied with the location because it’s very convenient for the school

Average service but happy with final property.

Verified Resident

The development is in a good location for transport links and the local area is beginning to be rejuvenated. The building itself has a good finish but the appliances that were included are fairly budget.
The developer was fairly inefficient dealing with queries and focussed on making sales over customer service. It would often take a long time to get a response. There were also issues when snags were found after completion including major concerns such as no heating for several weeks.
The development is now run by a service company who are again inefficient and problems are no resolved for weeks.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location is great for transport links and has a local high st for shops and restaurants. However, it is missing a large supermarket or upmarket bars/clubs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I probably would suggest a professional snag inspection as we found a lot of issues later in the process that you would not notice on a first look around.

A purpose-built neighbourhood in blossoming Canning Town

East City Point is a huge, multi-billion-pound joint venture from Countryside Properties, the London Borough of Newham and Clarion Housing Group. Designed to deliver a thriving new neighbourhood in the Canning Town area, the project encompasses 649 modern homes, a primary school and a myriad of landscaped pathways and squares. Lots of eco-friendly features, such as double glazing and solar panels, give the place points, too.

East City Point homes have been designed to suit all life stages and backgrounds. There are apartments and penthouses, townhouses and ‘uberhauses’ – a concept from Countryside that gives residents more in the way of space and luxury. So, whether you’re a professional drawn by the area’s proximity to Canary Wharf, or a family lured by the green space and onsite school, you’re sure to find a layout to suit.

All homes come with either a balcony, terrace or garden, and feature modern interiors that vary depending on the collection or block you’re in. Expect soft, muted colour palettes, sleek fitted kitchens and bathrooms that are neatly tiled. Help to Buy and Shared Ownership schemes were in full swing throughout the phased launches.

East City Point benefits from brilliant transport links. It’s less than a 15-minute walk from Canning Town tube and the Jubilee line, which means Canary Wharf is just five minutes away, while Central London is 15. You can also catch DLR trains from here to well-linked Stratford International. Once Crossrail launches at close-by Custom House, East City Point residents will be even better connected, reaching hubs like the West End quickly and easily. Road connections are just as impressive, with the M11, M25 and A13 all nearby. Plus, London City Airport is less than a 10-minute taxi ride away.
