Constant 24/7 on and off whirring noise coming from nearby HVAC units

Mo (Tenant)

Aug 2020

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There's constant 24/7 on and off whirring noise coming from HVAC units installed on the roofs of the neighbouring buildings: Spectrum, Aurora. The companies who manage those buildings (Rendall & Rittner and Peabody respectively) do not want to do anything regarding that noise pollution. Hackney Council is as always useless and not willing to fulfil their statutory duty and help.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The noise pollution present both in the area and the building.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

Having proper A/C as the flat is getting very warm during the period from May to September or at least having external part of the windows and window seals in a light colour as opposed to dark as they accumulate energy from sun rays and become very hot.

Wonderful design with close city transport links

Michael Y (Owner)

Aug 2020

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local area is nice escape from the hustle bustle of the city. There are loads of quirky restaurants and markets nearby, and living here you are not far away from London Bridge (only 17 minutes on the tube!) where there is always something happening that you can get involved in. This brings me nicely on to the transport links of which there are plenty, as well as public transport, this development is the A10 which can take you easily onto the M25 where you can get around the country. Finally, there are loads of clothes and goods' shops nearby which is perfect for a day out shopping.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have liked to have known a few recommendations for places to eat as I am a vegetarian and I had to do a lot asking around and exploring myself, which is fine, but I would have liked to have had a rough idea of where to look intially.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

The only thing I would change is a little more space on the balcony as it is difficult to host more than a couple of friends and enjoy the summer evenings on the balcony when it is quite a nice temperature in the evening.

Great location

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The immediate area is very quiet despite being so central. Several supermarkets within a 5-10 minute walk (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, M&S, Co-op). There are also tennis courts, basketball courts and gyms within a 5 minute walk. 5 minute walk to old st tube on northern line and national rail, 10 minute walk to Hoxton overground. Several nice cafes and shops on Pitfield street and just a short walk to Shoreditch / Spitalfields for the shops there. Regent’s Canal is also very close by.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing to add - everything I saw from my viewings turned out to be exactly as it was (I’ve lived here over 6 months now)

What is the best feature of your home:

Roof terrace and shared garden, central location (but the building itself is very peaceful!)
