In the Bermondsey area year on year price growth sits at about 11% and 23% of the market share are first time buyers - so it is a great place to be investing. Bermondsey has a high concentration of local authority buildings, in which privately owned apartments can be bought for under GBP650 per sft but this price is going up. The Bermondsey Street has changed beyond all recognition in the last ten years with over 100 places to eat or drink there always seems to be a buzz. I have invested in the Corio scheme which delivers a high density urban scheme, without the need for high rise. It therefore fits in well with the streetscape and townscape of its surroundings. I think this area will continue to be on the up as people grow bored of the canary wharf heartless new cities.
