Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
This is a very convenient area close to central London and with very good transport links. It has a lively and friendly atmosphere
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Too soon to say as Ihave only just moved in to the new flat
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The concierge helped us with disposing of all our packing cases and materials when we moved in. I was worried about what to do with it all but it was taken care of swiftly and efficiently

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
I’ve lived at Author Kings Cross since February 2025 and it’s been excellent. Most mornings I grab a flat white at Redemption Roasters and drop into Alma Cafe downstairs for reliably good food and warm service. Weekends are easy: small exhibitions and markets nearby, plus a pilates studio on my doorstep. The transport is the real superpower. King’s Cross St Pancras is minutes away, with rapid links across nearly all Underground lines as well as national and international rail, so commuting and spontaneous trips are effortless.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
E.g., when my lights went out, I just asked the team on WhatsApp and they helped me fix the lights within 15 minutes.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Before moving in I had to ask how soundproof the windows were, and the agent actually recorded a video of a passing train with the windows closed so that I could assess the sound levels. It was very nice of her and extremely helpful. I wished it was mentioned in the reviews earlier so that I didn’t have to ask.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Well here is the well-known Kings Cross area. Lots of cafes, restaurants and indie shops, plus canalside paths. Multiple Tube lines, so getting around is easy. Noise is low-mid on weekdays.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Super fast and helpful. When I had an issue with my electricity meter, Cosmin and Richard checked everything, kept me updated, and waited for the engineer. Problem solved the same day.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I would choose a higher level as the view would be better.
Manager response

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
I love living here. Coal drops is like a little haven with greenery and cute shops – it's full of good vibes, cute family events, cultural events. It's clean, safe and having the canal is a blessing.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes, everything single time. Specifically maintenance. They also disposed of my couch for me! It was amazing!
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Booking the amenities is pricy, but it ensures exclusivity.
Manager response

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Kings Cross is buzzing with energy — endless cafes, cool restaurants, and quirky shops just around the corner. The pathway to Tapper Walk and park area is perfect for people-watching or if you are a dog owner like me, perfect place to stroll around. Transport is a dream with so many options, though rush hour feels like a game of human Tetris! The vibe is lively but mostly friendly, and you’ll never be bored living here.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Building management is super quick to respond and always friendly.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I’d known how lively the area gets on weekends—great for socialising but can be a bit noisy! Also, the building’s community events are awesome for meeting neighbours, so definitely get involved early. It really makes living here feel like home.
Manager response
Thank you, Alannah! We’re so happy you’re enjoying the lively community and modern spaces here at Author. Your kind words about Afrah and the team mean a lot! The Author Team
