Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The ground floor communal area is very useful with beautiful design throughout. Free Wi-Fi is also available in the communal areas, which is another great added benefit for residents. We love the gym and yoga studio! Darek and his team are fantastic — always welcoming and helpful. The whole place has such a great vibe, and the cinema room is also available. Having a direct WhatsApp chat with the concierge is another great benefit, making communication quick and easy whenever we need assistance.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had a minor issue during our stay, but it was resolved very quickly. The team was extremely helpful, responsive, and professional. Great service!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Everything has been great so far! The events are a fantastic bonus, giving residents the opportunity to meet each other and build a sense of community. It’s also lovely to see the staff getting involved and genuinely looking after the residents. It really makes the place feel welcoming.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location has been one of the best things about living at Author. King’s Cross is incredibly convenient with excellent transport links and pretty much everything you need within walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops nearby, as well as Coal Drops Yard and Granary Square. Despite being so central, the development itself feels surprisingly peaceful and we have always felt comfortable walking around the area, including in the evenings. Having such good transport connections nearby has also made getting around London incredibly easy.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Throughout our time at Author, one thing that has really stood out is how much the management team genuinely cares about the residents. Whenever we have raised an issue, whether it has been maintenance, security or simply a suggestion to improve the building, we have always felt listened to and taken seriously. Having a knowledgeable team on site who can respond to problems quickly makes such a difference, especially when you have a young family. There is a real sense of reassurance knowing that someone is always available to help. A great example was when we suggested that the gym could benefit from some additional equipment. Rather than dismissing the feedback, the team listened and responded quickly, which we really appreciated. Derek and the wider team deserve a lot of credit for creating this environment. What I appreciate most is that they don’t just maintain the building, they genuinely seem invested in making it a better place for everyone living here. It’s those little things that make Author feel like a proper home rather than just another apartment building.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we had known just how much of a community feel Author has before moving in. It is something you don’t really appreciate from a viewing. The team get to know you personally, the communal spaces are genuinely useful and there is always someone around if you need help. We also didn’t realise how convenient the location would be day to day. King’s Cross, Coal Drops Yard, shops, restaurants and transport are all within easy walking distance. My advice to anyone moving in would be to make full use of the facilities and get to know the team because they are a big part of what makes living here so enjoyable.

Close to granary square and King’s Cross! Amazing restaurants and shops - quite pricey though but good

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’ve been told that communal spaces can be used free of charge unless you want specific day booked but now if its over 2 people you always have to pay and book and vacate by 11 pm - we’ve been told something very different when we were moving in unfortunately

Great area to live in, safe, friendly neighbours and overall amazing. Felt very safe the whole time.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Always always always so helpful and respond to any and all questions

Commute to work, particularly walk to the station.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

An absolutely perfect location - part of the KX estate, but far enough away from the center of it to remain quiet. Everything you would need is within walking distance and access to transport is excellent. The trains can create some subtle noise (the triple glazing really shines here with noise control).

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have a direct WhatsApp chat with the concierge and everything has been handled spectacularly. Any issues that we have raised, from needing to know how something worked through replacing a showerhead, has been addressed promptly and professionally.
