Northern Group reviews

“Very high quality. Been here for the last 9 year. Very well maintained. Sort problems out quickly. Think there is better buildings around. The security its good. The private car park for the building costs 100 pounds a month with is expensive.” Verified resident on Flint Glass Wharf

Quiet accomodation

The actual flat is a really decent size for city centre. Lots of storage space. All these flats rented by same property management company who are fine apart from at the weekend when they are not open. If there is a problem they’re usually quite sorted. When we moved in we were promised we would get a concierge which hasn’t happened.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like all the independent bars and restaurants. Dislike all the building work going on. Quite noisy on a Saturday morning with the drilling. Easy links for work.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish we had known about all the building work going on in the area. Can’t sleep in the day.

What is the best feature of your home:

The space and the location is great about the home for city centre.

Amazing residence, flats with Ancoats personality!

The roof terrace still isn’t complete after 1.3 years of residents living here, but the view from it is incredible – one of the best views in Manchester! Great concierge, will happily receive your parcels any day or time of the week and very friendly!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great local area, amazing bars and food places. Transport links could do with improvement – public transport not road access. A little traffic noise but fairly quiet! Plenty of private car parks to choose from, including a cheap one opposite. Bin collection is fine, although if you live above the side of the building where the bins are put out you will likely experience lots of fruit flies.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Don’t pay to park in the car park offered in the building, go on the waiting list for flint glas wharf, also owned by the northern group, 2 mins down the road and half the price.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Could be quicker although issues we have raised aren’t essential services – just additional perks like the roof terrace not being finished and lifts that are broken aren’t always fixed quickly!

The noise as we are at the front is the main downside

The noise as we are at the front is the main downside, if we were at the back of the building this wouldn’t be as much of a problem, refurbishments have been made recently so everything new and in good working order.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Its very noisy, the cobbles on the street make a lot of noise don’t like leaving windows open and building site opposite

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The main thing is the noise

What is the best feature of your home:

Redone all kitchens etc and its great value for the area

Quiet but good location

You think it would be louder because of the square. They are considerate constructors. Property management are ok but a bit slow sometimes. It is good, spacious and open with big windows. But none of the windows open. I have a balcony though so it is ok. The other windows don’t open.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like the area as it’s up and coming, it’s nice, quite central.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that some of the windows don’t open!
