Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great location right in the city centre. Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Good transport links too, the train station is close by. The area around Causeway Lane is quiet enough for a residential building but you are never far from anything you need. Parking is available and the neighbourhood feels safe.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Reported a couple of minor snags after moving in and the team acknowledged them straight away. Repairs are being scheduled within the same week, no chasing

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The building is quieter than you would expect for a city centre development. Good sound insulation between apartments. Also worth knowing that the management team are genuinely approachable, so if something is not right just flag it and they will sort it. Do not sit on small issues thinking nobody cares, because they actually do here.

Manager response

Happy Living at The Saxon

Manoj Kumar (Tenant)

The Saxons, LE1

Feb 2026

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We moved into The Saxon in January, and it has been a great decision. The location is excellent, with the main bus stand, city centre, Highcross, and schools all nearby. The society is very well maintained, and the ladies at the reception are extremely supportive and helpful. The gated community has great amenities including a gym, table tennis, garden, party area, and parking. Everything is conveniently available within the complex. We are very happy to be part of this society.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, Happy with the management, though we did not faced any issue till now.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Good, as we were already aware about the society, so happy to be part of this society

Manager response

Hello Manoj,, Thank you so much for leaving a lovely review, we are so happy you and your family have settled in well and making good use of the amenities, we hope to see you at our next event! If there is ever anything you need, do not hesitate to contact us. All the best!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is amazing. Main bus station just a few mins away, and several bus stands right across the road. All the city centre, railway station, bus stations, parks, banks, hospital etc are nearby. Safe atmosphere could be felt in the building and very clean area.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have solved it for me right away. There was a small maintenance issue and they offered a visit of a cleaner right the next day that I reported the issue to the management.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is no guest parking here which I didnt know in advance.

Manager response

Hello Ms Zak, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We love to hear your feedback! Apologies regarding the lack of guest parking. If there is anything we can help you with during your time here, please pop down to reception or send us an email, always happy to assist. All the best!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Really good location in highcross access to food, gym and transport, private parking however is sometimes noisy from outside

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very well my flatmate had reported some issues that get resolved quickly

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That rent would increase after 1 year. That the gates would be faulty often

Manager response

Hello there, Thank you so much for leaving a lovely review, we appreciate the feedback. Rental increases go up across the board and is common, however our increases were quite low and we were really good at communicating this in advance to everyone before a renewal and we were able to discuss this increase before. The rear gates have had some teething issues during their first year sadly, we apologise for this. The good news is they are is under warranty and are being regularly assessed by a competent gate servicing company. We recently had a visit to assess the gates and tweak the mechanisms safety and hopefully this will have put a stop to the pesky intermittent fault. If there is ever anything you need, do not hesitate to contact us. All the best!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Everything you need is walking distance. However if car parking is limited. Being so central you can hear outside traffic with the windows shut.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had issues with the window and they sorted someone to come out that week to have a look.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

They host many monthly events which is great for meeting friends.

Manager response

Hello Laura, Thank you so much for leaving a lovely review, we appreciate the feedback. We do have two communal toilets located next to a the East side lift / next to the Amenity room, we can show you next time you are about if you like :) If there is ever anything you need, do not hesitate to contact us.
