Stay clear from Taylor Wimpey new build homes

The development is quite big the house designs are nice although the road layout could be better the after care has a lot to be desired as once Taylor Wimpey have your money they lose interest. Building management i would put at a minus as it takes a lot of phone calls and a lot of pressure to get to send someone out to sort your issue and even then it takes a long time for them to come out and sort it. we have had 3 or 4 new front doors as they bow or won’t lock we have had lawns with no topsoil then when it was sorted they put contaminated turf down the turf was contaminated with leather jackets and they didn’t want to do anything with that saying it was our issue not theirs. but eventually they sent someone around to spray the grass this was an issue throughout the estate and everyone was complaining. the residents actually made a FB group complaining about the issues they were having. there were properties sold that were different from the plans I.E missing walls to make one bigger kitchen instead of a kitchen and a separate dining room drives not deep enough to fit my car on without it sticking over onto the kerbside. blocked drains and toilets that they refused to come and sort even though they were reported within the 3 year period we had holes cut in ceilings to fix the en-suites as they weren’t draining worked out the pipes were put in the wrong way they didn’t have enough slope to take the water away and when you flushed the toilet it came up in the shower and the site managers answer to that was to say the reason is because the toilet is to close to the shower. when we moved in there were scratches on windows and patio doors outside lights hanging off not properly fixed to the wall different coloured tiles between the kitchen and dining room well the last 4 were a different colour and when i asked about it in the pre inspection i was told they had had an argument with the tiler he ran out of tiles so put 4 similar colours in. we put the red stickers on all the issues we found during the pre inspection and when we moved in 3 weeks later they had removed all the stickers and wiped it down without sorting the issues. I would Not recommend this builder to anyone especially 1st time buyers as the amount of issues you get with these houses takes the shine off having a new build property. especially when the builder doesn’t want to repairs without a argument or without you having to go to the HSBC before you get issues resolved to an acceptable standard

there is only a garage which has a Greggs and a Sainsburys inside that is the only place within walking distance all other shops you need a car for. there are no bus stops around here there is a Marsden’s pub and a smoke house there is supposed to be a park for the little ones but so far nothing noticeable.

a lot of people on this site have complained at some time or another a lot have sold up and moved off the site I have yet to hear anyone say anything positive about their house or the site

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

brushed off issues ,lied and said didn’t know about the reports we have put in. Not interested in sorting issues out and leave things unfinished

Development quality was good however they lacked attention to detail with quite a few snags found. They were good at coming back to fix things but sometimes it was just easier to sort them out yourself rather than message them about another snag and then arrange a time to get it fixed.

Communication was good at the beginning of house purchase but then got a lot less frequent and we had to chase for updates.

Overall the delevepment is well designed and looks great. There is a walk path with exercise machines but no park as of yet.

The development is still being built on but the areas are kept as clean as they could be.

We really enjoy living on this development and hope to still love it just as much years down the line

Clean estate with easy access to local shops that are 5-10 minutes away by car. 2 local pubs in walking distance with a sainsburys local and fuel station available at a 5 minute walk too.

Quite and lovely estate.

We hadn’t been told and weren’t aware that our house didnt come with a satellite. This would have been a nice thing to know before move in day.

When we reached out about issues we have found, they were corrected quite quickly

Nice looking home but poor finish

When buying our property, we chose the build because we particularly like the design and how it looks from the outside.
When inside, we like our layout and we like the space inside the rooms when taking into consideration this is a new build property.
We have noticed that final finish on the build appear rushed and we have replaced many components within the property to ensure of a build we are happy with.
The real disappointment is the garden – the turf is “lumpy”, it has no drainage and the quality of soil underneath is awful – it appears as though TW have just dumped the rubble from the building site under the gardens – both front and rear!

Since the development has been built, there has been a petrol station, shop, greggs, Costa and Pub built – we are really happy with these things.
Bin collection is good and with having a driveway we have good parking availability.
Living directly adjacent to the main road presents the obvious noise issues and Taylor Wimpey have done very little to address our concerns regarding speeding on the site, particularly by its employees/contractors.

Be sure to ask if the plans to the development are final – we found that the site plan we had seen before we bought changed after we bought and certain sections were changed and moved closer that we were originally led to believe

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

When discussing the garden issue with TW, they stated that they would come and returf as they appreciated the finish was poor, however, could only do the work six months later – we did not want to be without a garden for this long and so rejected the offer. Of note, our neighbour accepted the offer and have had no garden for over 2 years now

I have owned a home on willowbrook grange for 2 years now, the only issues I have are with correspondence with road closures. Last Friday I was out food shopping I get back and the road was shut to get in to estate. The contractors said no assess, they didn’t offer to assist with my shopping to my house as I live at the bottom of the estate. I contact customer service savoy this and they get back to me 2 hours later offering assistance by my this time my food had defrosted. He also made out I was a liar and said the contractors had offered to carry which they didn’t. He said then he would get back to me which he didn’t. Cheryl then emailed me to state that it was an avoidable loss of good and they aren’t taking responsibility. But no one sent an email or letter or knocked on the door. Very poor customer services

Happy with the development. It’s a family orientated area where children can play freely. There is a lovely woodland walk which is available for people to walk their dogs or do some exercise. The development has a couple of close pubs/restaurants which are very nice

The design of the development is excellent, it is very spacious and well layout.

The design of the development is excellent, it is very spacious and well layout. There is lots of parking available by the houses and the layout of the houses inside is amazing. The inside is very spacious and well designed. The bricks and the tarmac outside looks really good.

Very good area. Very peaceful and lots of available parking. The neighbours are all nice and easy to get along with.

I wish I had known that the walls are plaster boards and it’s hard to paint over them.

Yes they have always responded well and on time and have sorted out any issues.

Design is beautiful. Only problem is they left the grass front of my door rather then put some tarmac. Otherwise everything else is so far so good. Another bad thing is the walls are not the actual wall they are Peter board which is already cracking.

Good but not without issues

The entrance to the housing estate has a tight corner and difficult to see around when cars park there so poor design of the road. Plenty of issues with the house build itself, such as door dropping, condensation build up leading to damp and mould forming. Looks nice on the outside however and other than some issues the house itself is nice

The development is great.

The development is great. Has a wonderful little woodland walk, which also has exercise equipment a long it that will keep you fit or the kids entertained. Hopefully the sports/play area will be built in the coming months to make it even better. Wahoo

Love it

Lovely estate develement with great commute links for motorway and train station – 5 mins from supermarket. Lovely walks near by if you have dogs and right next to hickory’s smokehouse if you want decent quality food and drinks within walking distance.

Love living here so close to the motorway for excellent commute links and so close to the train station. Yet out of the way.

How slow it would’ve been to get snags sorted.

Not all of them have been responded to or sorted so that is taking a little longer than we would have hoped really.
