Terribly designed, can’t open bedroom doors if you put a bed in the room of the master suit (the bed only fits in the room one way). Radiators in living room , kitchen and third bedroom in worst place preventing from furniture going in the rooms comfortably. Kitchen dinner is too small for dining suit, kitchen is tiny. Persimmons agreed that the kitchen was unfit for purpose, taken 5 months for them to fit new kitchen and 6 weeks on they’ve still not finished it, the replacement kitchen is terrible. To get anything done, repaired, put right is a fight, they either don’t reply to emails or book people to come without checking when your available first! Been to professional kitchen companies who’ve all advised me the kitchen dimensions are not suitable to put in standard units, so on a new house to put right is a nightmare. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you to avoid Persimmons. Nothing is simple here, NO-ONE replies to you, they’re complaints process doesn’t even get replied to you. PERSIMMONS! THE COMPANY THAT JUST DO NOT CARE!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The good aspect is you can drive away and leave, the local area isn’t so bad, or a lot to offer though. The Bad aspect is you can’t have windows open as house fills instantly with builders dust as you are quite literally in the heart of a building site. Constant noise from machinery, alarms and their radios. Roads constantly blocked, builders using your drives for parking and dropping cigarette butts and waiste in car ports and sleeping in their cars on your driveway.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Takes 7 to 10 days to get replies, if you get a reply at all. Directors, management no one replies. Popped into sales office asking what to do to get someone reply, got a phone call 30 min later demanding I do not go in to sales office again.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just how bad the after sales is, no quality in anything. How filthy the house would be when handed over. Prime example I reported a sparking socket in the kitchen 5 weeks ago… still no one has been to look at the hazzard. Oh and paint was on everything, they gave me wipes to clean it off everything myself.

Great place to live and getting even better!

I personally think the development design is great. When you look down a street you will see different coloured houses (brick colour, painted etc) different sized houses, different shaped houses even down to the angle of the road meaning houses don’t all look in a line, it makes the whole estate look nice and varied. In terms of facilities there is currently one park which is a nice size and great for children, with others planned to be built. The shop area is due to be completed soon and we have a school on our doorstep. Our moving in process felt very organised, we did have some snagging which was promptly completed. We did have a small slow leak at one point and someone from the site came out and fixed this within hours of us reporting.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Towcester feels like a nice little community even though the town is growing with new housing developments, there are plenty of local shops and the high street is a nice place to visit as well. In terms of the Furlongs development, there will be some more local shops built in the not to distant future giving us even more choice. The bus links to Milton Keynes are ok with buses running reasonably well, however we are waiting for a bus stop in the Furlongs development. The amount of cars parked on the only entrance to the estate can be a bit of a pain with the amount of traffic travelling through, however there will be further entrances built as the development expands so this is likely to be less of a problem. Our particular street is great, we all have our own driveways so there is plenty of off road parking, bin collections have always been on time and you can sit in your garden in the evening with no traffic noise at all. My only negative point is the speed at which people travel down the road can be excessive especially when more and more children and pets are venturing out.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are always quick to respond and resolved things as quickly as possible.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It’s not something I would have considered before having children, but how close your front door is to the Main Street, as we are in a busy one it concerns me with the speed people travel down it. Consider if you don’t drive getting to work in somewhere such as Milton Keynes could be a long journey each day as the infrastructure for public transport is still being worked on.

Furlongs review

I like variety of different houses, there design with trees and paths makes it feel an open space to live. Some of the roads are quite narrow which when residents park on the road it can make it difficult to get past at times. There is a local Facebook group which is a great way of sharing issues or positives within community

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I enjoy living in this area. I would highlight traffic to be a downfall being on the edge of a small village yet such a large plot being build however otherwise parking, traffic noise, parkland etc it is a lovely place to be. More green areas would be nice but there are now developing path walks

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have yes however they had to be escalated high in order to achieve this

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long it would take for shops to be build on site such as food shops

Lovely mix of different style houses. Houses are made so there’s as much living space as possible. Builders were always really helpful. The ladies at the office couldn’t do enough for us. Would buy a property again.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lovely restaurants and welcoming bars, nice area, everyone looks out for each other.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have resolved all issues and turned up when they were supposed to.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Make sense of the bin days/how it’s done before moving in

Attractive Development

Since moving here a year ago, I have grown to love it here even more. The development is attractive, the town of Towcester is pretty and easily accessible for groceries and a coffee or a meal out. The development is a good base for MK, Stony Stratford Buckingham which are places I often visit. You can't hear the traffic, only from Silverstone races occasionally. The green areas around the site are pretty and the park areas are great for children. The house itself is great, no major issues. Management resolved any snags quickly. Friendly team in the office. Jo and Jayne were so helpful throughout the purchase. Carmen in Customer Care has been super efficient and always pleasant to deal with. Wish there were more facilities on site but just have to be patient. It's noisy at times from building work, and very dusty, but it's to be expected and I've gotten used to it now!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is very attractive and fairly close to the pretty town of Towcester. Towcester has a leisure centre, a few supermarkets and some high quality individual boutique shops and coffee shops / restaurants and pubs. Only facilities on site currently is a primary school and nursery but more being built

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very prompt and friendly service. Team always willing to help.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Timescales for completion can over run quite significantly, so be prepared. Wish the shops and facilities were being built sooner.
