Great community to raise a family with modern well equipped flat

Review Date Jul 2019

The house itself is not as spacious for our family as we would like. Some adjoining flats have four bathrooms which is a bit unnecessary in the development’s design. Those extra bathroom houses should have been used for extensions of space for other family house units. The interior design of the house is decent though and it has all the modern facilities we need up to a good standard. One problem is the signal for phone and WiFi for some networks is quite poor in this part of town. Our rent was ok in the past but now it is quite expensive. Rent has gone up quite dramatically recently over the ten years I have been living here.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is a really great calm community to raise a young family with still good access to all the modern shops and restaurant facilities you need nearby. We have great transport links with Burnt Oak and Edgeware tube stations both really nearby. We have a great Edgeware local community hospital or Accident and Emergency just round the corner. We have good parking space here but annoyingly if a family has multiple cars we have outside agents come here and post parking tickets on the cars which are unjustified. They think we are a visitor illegally parking here without a visitor card. The local council services and landlord management is good in resolving issues for us but we hear stories of poor service from other tenants.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I don’t really have any regrets or things I did not know. We did a good viewing before moving in. But the poor WiFi and phone network signal is indeed a problem.

Safe lovely community for children to live with spacious decent flat

The house itself is a very nice flat that is spacious with two bedrooms that are enough for the family. It is very warm during winter with just 1 hour of putting the heating on to keep the house warm for an entire day. We can therefore save money on energy bills. The flat has two toilets and one bathroom. The flat has a nice design. The only issue is the landlord service for the various flats could be better. The lady who owns the development of flats is very great and nice but the agency manager can be a bit rude. They are quick to call you up for late payment but slow to fix repairs. One lady living nearby had to wait one week for her hot water to be restored after a boiler broke. The flat at just over two thousand pounds is decent value for money given its size and while it is a bit expensive, one cannot complain as the rent has remained the same for three years or so now.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This is a great little community with a private enclosure of space that is very safe for families. Living here is like being in a little safe comfy village where everyone knows each other, can chat together and there is cheeky gossip when a new tenant moved in. It is very safe for kids to all play together around unsupervised even with a nice playground. All the kids from different family country backgrounds play together and have fun. There is also great access to shops nearby like Lidl, Asda and Sainsbury’s, off licenses and kebab shops just round the corner. There are great barbers nearby too. We have Burnt Oak station just round the corner 3 minutes walk away and also Edgware station just 10 minutes walk away too. We have a great hospital nearby too. There is enough parking space for all the families here with all except one of the buildings here having underground parking space. Our building, Flora Court has outdoor parking instead but it is still spacious enough. There is also Edgware shopping centre not too far from here with many shops. I have been living in England for 17 years as an immigrant here and this is the best community I have lived in. There is even a nice path of woods behind us for people to jog through for exercise.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I have not regrets of anything really. One thing that has changed over time is the Barent Council cleaning service for the forest path space behind the park playground area. It used to be always cleaned by them in the past but now they do not clean it anymore.

Good place to live

The apartment is nice spacious and modern, the apartment is self contained which is exactly what I was looking for. The kitchen and bathroom were new and gorgeous when I moved in which I expect. However parking is difficult, only one car park space per apartment so I can’t park my other car here

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Living I between two stations is great. Also hospital right besides us which is very convient. Close by schools

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish I knew about the parking space situation, it’s very annoying

Can’t complain very nice

The apartment is OK sized, could be bigger but it’s not bad for its price. The kitchen and bathroom is of good quality and something I’m very pleased with. My apartment also comes with a balcony which is a plus. Not good upkeeping of the development grounds with lots of rubbish around

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good area, good access to central London, nice and quiet area. Schools are local and of very good quality.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

None so far

Not the safest area

The estate is quiet mostly, by wouldn’t safe is that safe since our car got stolen recently. There’s a great community vibe around which I like. The apartment is average sized, not too big or small. The facilities are alright but ageing, would need a refurbishment soon.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I dont like how far away from Central London the area is, quite far away. The transport is close by with good bus and train links. Area is pretty safe too

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

None really can’t really complain about it, knew all the ups and downs before I moved in

Decent quality house in area with good amenities

Verified Resident
Verified Resident

The house has sufficient space but not so extensive. It is good for a couple with one child and a maximum of two kids but no more. The kitchen and bathrooms are well designed with good plans. The only problem here is the management services can improve. The council building managers need to be more responsive and diligent in maintaining common facilities.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is great with all the shop and restaurant amenities we need. The community is all nice and gets on well. We have some social events and a web page for communication of events and problems. The area has great transport links with two good tube stations nearby.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is not much I regret or did not know about before moving in.

Was great at first!

Our apartment is very big, with two big bedrooms and bathrooms. The apartment is light and airy so lots of natural light but can get hot at times. However with many renters are coming and do not take good care of the area, leaving rubbish around which is unpleasant. Also building management is not that good, not on top of things, takes long to respond and cost too much!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like that the fact that we’re in between train stations, so great transport links around. shops, parks and schools also close by which is great. Area is pretty diverse which I love

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

None everything was great when I first moved in.

Great property, rubbish management!

The living space is how I like. I bought the apartment from new and most things were in excellent condition. There were a few minor issues with the quality when moving in but most has been resolved. However there are too many incoming renters so building management is poor. Ive had an ongoing problem with my apartment for several years and building management still haven’t dealt with the issue. So in the aspect there needs a drastic improvement

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area itself is very good, close to my transportations and the motorway so the Transport links are great. Theres also the local school and park nearby which is great for my kids. I would say the area is safe with no problems encountered so far .

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew the building management was not at all good.

Not bad!

Decent development, would say its kind of small but it’s great for its value. The facilities are relatively modern with a refurbished kitchen and bathroom. I would say that the area in the complex is also safe.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Apartment is close to the local stations, there’s the high street close-by but it’s not the best. Good transport links as it’s close trains and busses. Would also say the area is relatively safe

Wish I knew the management take long to deal with issues and also not the best up keeping

The house it’s alright, spacious and fits out family needs, the kitchen and bathroom are in good condition when we moved in and now. Everything is the way as it’s seems and have not had any major problems so far

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area Nissan nice, off the main road so it’s quite but random cars come so that’s annoying you need permit to parking and onlyrics one per household

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

None really everything is what I expected no major faults
