Rural living in a town centre

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

every shop you could need is at least 10/15mins away, parking isn’t an issue. Like with most areas crime is still prevalent, nothing a ring doorbell and a camera isn’t preventing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Garden drainage is poor, requires work wish I had know before having shed and slab work done

What is the best feature of your home:

Heat retention, saves hundreds in these times of high energy bills

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is perfect to access the centre of Telford via the town park. Shops and bars within walking distance. However if you need to take a car you do have to drive all the way round. There are not any local primary schools within walking distance so we do have to drive to a school. There are plenty of walks and open areas to access all on your doorstep which makes the development feel like you are almost in the countryside. Traffic noise is minimal and you hear the birds more than cars. Parking is great if everyone uses their drives however being close to the town park we go get people parking when events are on and the roads are quite narrow so sometimes difficult with wider vehicles accessing if bad parking. We don’t get any anti-social behaviour and all the neighbours are very friendly. Train /bus station is walkable to 15-20 mins but no other local buses around. I still love loving here and feel very relaxed and safe when at home.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The gardens are very much clay soil so choose wisely on planting and be prepared to have soggy gardens in the winter, drainage is not great.

What is the best feature of your home:

Sky lights are a lovely feature that is prominent in countryside homes. I love how much light they let in and turns the kitchen space into something special.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is located about 15min walking distance to the town centre and 25 minutes to the train station. There is a great infrastructure in place connecting all major roads to the development enabling ease and time efficient movement. The development is surrounded by woodlands and horse fields. T here is a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops but all big corporations and no room for independent traders what is a bit disappointing. Every plot has their own driveways and there is a space for visitors to park in front of properties. We have unfortunately experienced attempted burglaries in the first two years of the completion of the development, however that seems to calmed down since the end of lockdown with an occasional attempt at trying on car door handles. Being situated close to the town centre and especially the Wonderland theme park and Exotic Zoo as well as fun fairs traveling to the park we experience an influx of traffic especially on weekends and holidays what can get noisy especially if some of the cars are speeding past the estate. We have had a traffic improvements put in place recently restricting the speed on the main road as well as establishing single file traffic in two points what seems to have slowed everyone down but we are yet to observe the advantages of such improvements in time.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Before you move in please please seal the amtico floor you have as the dirt goes into the pores of the panels and it is an abolute nightmare to clean especially if you choose the light coloured option of flooring.

What is the best feature of your home:

Definitely the skylights! They add the wow factor for anyone coming in and seeing the property for the first time. Also, the home layout is well thought out to enable as much natural light into every room as possible what we absolutely love.

Fabulous area to live in. Great location with easy access to rural areas and short walk from town park.

Wish id done more research on the builder. Would maybe of not bought it if i had known how bad they were.

What is the best feature of your home:

Kitchen with sky lights. Makes the house unique to other new builds.

Nice area overall, close to town and shops. Bin collections always fine, ample parking with every house. Quiet.

It can get very hot in the summer as it's a three floor property
