Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Very convenient location - a 20 min walk along the river into the centre of Glasgow - good to clear the head before and after work. Sainsbury’s local in the same block. Quiet at night.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Management team on the front desk very friendly and helpful dealing with issues - like finding things in the post room, sorting out the paperwork, and dealing with a minor issue with the lights.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’m using this as a base for working away from home and I hadn’t thought through all the things I’d need to buy - ironing board, vacuum cleaner, microwave and kettle, chest of drawers, desk etc. It’s not a problem - I’ve ordered things to be delivered to the flat. I just hadn’t really thought through how much I’d need. That’s the one additional thing I’d find helpful from a development like this - things like vacuums and ironing boards that could be borrowed.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I’ve found the G3 area to be a great place to live. There’s a fantastic mix of local shops, cafés, restaurants, and bars all within easy walking distance, plus lovely open spaces like Kelvingrove Park nearby. Transport links are very convenient, with frequent buses and Charing Cross station close at hand. My street feels safe and generally quiet; parking can be a bit tight at times, but bin collections are reliable and I’ve had no issues with anti‑social behaviour. Overall, it’s a vibrant, well‑connected neighbourhood that’s been a pleasure to call home.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I’ve had several service requests recently, all handled promptly and professionally. My mattress removal was completed very quickly, which I appreciated. I also requested that the door to my bedroom be removed and the en suite door repaired; the maintenance team carried this out efficiently, removing the bedroom door and puttying the damaged bathroom door. They still need to finish the painting, and my only criticism is that some paint or putty debris was left on the floor afterward. Lastly, an obstructed electrical socket was repaired within 48 hours of submitting the request, which was excellent. Overall, the responsiveness and speed of the team have been impressive, and I’m grateful for the support.

I love living at PLATFORM_, but one thing I wish I’d known in advance is how challenging daily public transport can be if you’re commuting to the university. The bus that stops right outside doesn’t go to UofG, and it’s not even the same company as the buses that do — meaning separate tickets or passes. The nearest useful bus stops are about a 15‑minute walk away, which adds up to at least half an hour of walking every day in all weather. Glasgow is beautiful, but it’s also cold in winter and rainy year‑round, and carrying a book bag and laptop makes the walk more demanding, especially now that I’m in my 50s. It’s absolutely manageable, but it’s something I’d want a new neighbour to be aware of. If you rely on public transport, plan your routes ahead of time and consider the extra walking as part of your daily routine. PLATFORM_ itself is fantastic — just be prepared for the commute.

Lisa and the team are always super helpful. The building is so convenient and tastefully put together.

I wish I'd known that we had a sainsburies attached to the building as its so handy!

Good aspects of the local area The local area is excellent and very convenient, with shops, restaurants, cafés and transport links all nearby. Everything I need is within easy reach, and the location makes travelling around Glasgow simple. The area feels welcoming, well connected and enjoyable to live in.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

How management responded to issues The building management team has always responded quickly, politely and professionally whenever I have contacted them. They communicate clearly, provide helpful updates and make sure that everything is handled efficiently.

It would have been useful to know just how convenient the location is and how helpful the reception and maintenance teams are. Everything has been straightforward since moving in, and the building has been comfortable, welcoming and well managed.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

With the local Sainsbury's opening up, it has provided easy access. We have had parking problems but that has now been fixed with the new pillars blocking these cars from coming through.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have responded quickly, often going the extra mile to make sure whatever it is is fixed

I would say attending the events is a really good way to meet and see people who have the same interests. Though it can be daunting its a good way to learn about what's happening and support around the building
