We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

Park Farm is surrounded by 27 acres of open space and is less than a 5 minute drive from Thornbury High Street. Thornbury high street has a great variety of local stores, restaurants and pubs as well as excellent transport links to the M48, M4 and M5.

I love the Park Farm Development, there are lots of open green spaces as well as being surrounded by the country side. The design is good as there are a wide variety of houses and DWH and Barratts have been consistent in colouring of the houses and front doors which gives a polished look. However the service and customer service received from Barratts has been diabolical.

The Park Farm estate is well designed, Barratts & DWH have been consistent with the design of there homes and the matching black front doors give the estate a polished look. There are lots of open green spaces and parks as well as lovely walk ways in and around the estate. We were disappointed with the behaviour of some of the builders and workmen on site particularly speeding and parking.

Houses are very well designed. However when you email regarding problems no one ever gets back to you. In our home kitchen cupboard space is very limited. We were expecting cracks with the house moving but in the plaster work our whole staircase wood is cracked from the edging on the wall to the bannister itself. With the site not yet completed we don’t yet have property management. Also the design layout of our bathroom was changed so when we had a first visit inside we had to point out the fact that we had purchased a shower screen which could no longer be used as nowhere to mount it but this was put right

The site is a 50/50 split between David Wilson and Barretts. The David Wilson side has noticeably more space than the Barretts side. There is quite a serious design flaw on the first corner into the estate. With too many cars parking roadside, there is limited space to pace and a restricted view for people to see where anything is coming around the corner. Buses were expected to use that route and this was sold to us when we bought the house but I don't see how it will be possible. Lack of any signage or management of visitors spaces is disappointing. Small parks dotted around the site are quite poor quality compared to developments in the area by other builders. Paths are poor quality by comparison too. There is a significant amount of building materials/herras fencing strewn in hedge rows which shows no signs of being collected.

There are a wide variety of property styles on the estate making it a more interesting place to live than it might otherwise have been. We are happy with the design of our new home. There have been a number of snagging issues, some of which were resolved promptly and some of which we are having to chase. Although parking is not an issue for us personally, overall there would appear to be a shortage of parking spaces, leading to cars being parked on the road. The current condition of most of the main road through the estate is very poor. Hopefully this will be addressed before completion of the site. Our experience of our site manager has been very positive. However she does appear to be overstretched and response times have got longer as time has gone by.
