Really good place to live

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Mar 2023

Review After 6 Months.

The development is a really good place to live, the gym, pool etc is a great feature – it would be ideal if the pool was open until 10pm on weekends and there was a jacuzzi / whirlpool instead of such a large communal shower, pool temp needs to be higher too!

The price is very high for the space of the actual apartment but the other features are good

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Not many bars / restaurants in the immediate vicinity, surrounding area is quite industrial, visitor parking would be a plus

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The communal workspace is good but often very loud!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Overall service is good however bin chutes are often blocked / full

The facilities are clean most of the time.

Review Date Feb 2023

The facilities are great however, the swimming pool is far too cold to enjoy.
The facilities are clean most of the time.
It is very difficult to book the cinema room
Building management seems to be great
Friendly and helpful staff
Reception area is very welcoming

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Parking availability is very low. This is a shame because there are limited parking spaces for the building and charge very high prices. As a community nurse, I require a car for my job and it’s extremely difficult to find secure parking at an affordable price.
The area is very nice, I feel safe in the building.
Walking distance to bars, shops and the city centre.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Hot drinks machine and the water dispenser in the reception area 🙂

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have been very helpful. Fortunately, ive not had many issues to raise.

The parcel room is too small and it is inconvinient to find a parcel, and it needed to be extented. Furthermore, the wall design of the apartment in terms of the sound isolation need to be improved. Also, the bin room should be designed to be more convinient as well, as it only enables us to threw small bags.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

a little bit far from the university, and no rare direct bus to university, the bin room is not convinient.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The furniture and facilities list in the apartment.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They kindly assissted us with our issues and always friendly.

Nice building, lovely staff

Review Date Jan 2023

The gym, spa and cinema facilities are great. Staff are lovely and friendly. Likewise nice living area and the terraced garden is lovely in summer. Car park is poorly designed with cars parked on the ramp. The parcel room is far too small for a building of this size.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Easy access to town and transport links. Loads going on in the area. Street can be noisy at all hours but hasn’t been much of an issue. The flats aren’t well soundproofed from neighbouring flats though and that has been an issue throughout living here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Flats aren’t particularly well soundproofed. Deliveries/parcel room not as functional as other properties in the area

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Front Desk staff have always been excellent and responded to any issues quickly. They always communicate things well too

If I could rate here to stay out of 10 I would give it 100

Review Date Jan 2023

The facilities here I’m so greatful for everything is amazing and clean. The gym being open 24 hours really gives me that freedom to excel my physical and mental being at any time. And we’ll you’ve seen the photos the pool is classy and chill, never too busy and is peaceful

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

New to Manchester the location is perfect for me, with a short walk away to the station, town centre and the supermarkets it’s ideal. The location is low-key and private compared to the rest of the city, it’s quiet but the building is full of life

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Something I wish I knew before I moved in would be that the staff are so friendly and available, I thought I would be left to my own device to figure things out but everyone is beyond helpful

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Everything I’ve enquired about has been replied back to same day & any assistance is always there in the building regardless time of day. Also the app is so helpful

Decent build

Review Date Jan 2023

The design in terms of appearance is nice but the whole stair case isn’t finish and doesn’t look great. The stairs not being connect to the ground floor is terrible as it means the a block lifts are congested all the time making the higher apartments in appealing

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Aldi is quite close which makes shopping easy but there isn’t a big supermarket which you can go shop at

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The lifts are a major issue along with no heating in the corridors for the apartments

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Pretty good, they response fast and try and get someone in asap

Excellent development

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2023

The interior of the building is stunning. The lobby, to the spa deck are flawless.
Only slight disappointment is the change from provisional design plans with the concrete exterior compared to previous designs with glossy /more windows. The exterior of the building is quite grey now, and more glass would have been preferred. Also disappointing to have lost a rooftop space previously incorporated into the design. The commercial plot still isn’t filled.
The staff at Oxygen cannot be faulted: all go above and beyond.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location is superb, excellent access to transport options, desirable Ancoats/New Islington location
Facilities are great, although wish the rooftop space was still included as this was removed at some point during development

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

More transparency with change to development whilst it was under construction

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

ACL app is excellent to get in touch. Always available via the phone line also.

Oxygen: poorly researched modernity will not enhance your living in the changing Manchester skyline

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2023

The building’s management team is quite good, sociable and always open to help. Most facilities are great, with a pool, sauna, steam room, gym and coworking spaces. However, many times these are closed due to maintenace. The lounge and cinema room are great facilities but are almost impossible to book since they’re always busy. There is a trash chute available which is consistently clogged as it’s minuscule and only fits very small bin bags, therefore the bins have to be taken down to a bin room where I’m sure that nothing gets separated/recycled although the private waste management company advertises this service. There are only 2 lifts available for a 32 story building, annoying at most times, and there is no staircase connecting the ground and 1st floor through the inside of the building, making people wait for a lift to move within 1 floor. The insulation in the apartments is great, keeping the heat inside, excellent for the winter but making it hard to breathe in the summer.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The building is in a good location, with a food shop (Aldi) less than 5 min away, and nice areas to have food drinks and walk around in Northern Quarter, Ancoats and New Islington. I do not drive but getting to the complex by car is very easy through the ring road, and having Piccadilly Station just 10 min away. However, connecting to other parts of the city is a bit harder since there are no main bus stops around and Piccadilly Gardens is a 15+ min walk. It is also sad that there are no big green spaces around, as the city council is very focused on building hundreds of apartment complexes and office spaces in the area (including Oxygen). There are at least 3 big construction sites within a 200 metre radius and the number will be increasing very soon. I guess it’s not fair to complain about this when Oxygen is a contributor to this issue.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The amount of construction work in the area. The lack of airflow in the apartment

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I rent my Oxygen apartment through a private landlord, not ACL. I have reported some issues to the building maintenance team and they’re usually quick and efficient
