I live in a flat that is 3 rooms, the living room is a great space area that i really enjoy, because of the position of the flat i have sun in both sides, making my living area very bright and comfortable.
the kitchen is medium size, for small family i think is ok, the flat doesn’t came with the white goods.
The bathroom is a medium size with a bath/shower , me and my daughter really enjoy, it have a wood surface below that i end up making wet when i clean, so now is kind old and cracked and it doesn’t look nice as before.
The bedrooms are very spacious i could manage very well my daughter room and mine having plant space left for her toys, table and play area.
the flat also came with 2 small deposits that one i use to put it the jackets and coats and the other i use as deposit of shoes and old stuff, i confess this is amazing space, very well planned.
My only disappointment is the walls, is like they have paper inside, if u try to hang stuff u need to make sure of the weight, is very easy damaged .
But besides this detail, i really enjoy my flat and my community.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I live in newton leys, is really a fantastic area for families and people that enjoy a tranquility place, i really enjoy the parks around, we are surround by lakes and trees.
the local place to shop is ASDA ( unfortunately the only market available), but u can get fish and chips in a family bussiness as like chinese food aswell.
is a Costa also available if u enjoy having coffee out .
What i wish to change here is that would be great to have more options to shop around that is not just Asda, and the landfield where became a deposit for garbage.
The community is really friendly !

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

i just wished to know that a landfield for garbage place was about to exist, i had no idea about it, beside that i love the area!

A nice location to live, but a lot of problems due to poor execution or planning.

The local shops and facilities are a blessing being able to pop to the local Asda for small adhoc shopping. Excellent chip shop and local costa on our doorstep is welcome.

The implementation of traffic lights on the entrance to the estate appears to be poorly implemented. Due to non-standard light scheduling and unclear give-way rules. Given the low-speed/low-volume of traffic, a roundabout would have made far more sense.

Annual odor issues with the active landfill on our doorstep. When being sold the estate we were told that the use of this landfill will soon be ended, but the council is trying to extend its use well beyond its intended life. See article relating to the impact the landfill has in the summer

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Like – strong community presence on the local facebook group.

Dislike – The landfill usage being extended and resulting odor issues in the summer. Limited visible maintenance of the green and road areas around the estate. Some areas that have been in place for years don’t appear to be ‘finished’.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Landfill being extended. Lack of accountability from TW and Trinity actually maintaining the whole estate and not the bare minimum focusing on flats only.

What is the best feature of your home:

Spacious design, having a top floor dedicated to a en-suite bedroom.

Lucky to Live here – building finish very poor

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2021

The design in general is okay but there are areas on the main road through that aren’t big enough for two cars to safely pass each other. St Helena avenue is the main one as cars have to stop as two cats can not fit round the bed at the same time. It would be no hope of that became a bus route.
The shops, school and pavillion offer great facilitate and soon to be the green area replacing the tip. This will be much welcomed to the community.
Building management is very poor. Our snagging list was never dealt with and we still have issues with our windows being mouldy 7 years after living here where the window being fitted poorly. We also have a wind blowing through the cubby holes on our top floor where they were so badly insulated. Poor communication with getting these matters resolved and now they claim no responsibility for to the age of the house.
We also regularly get slugs through our front door where the gap is large on the bottom to the floor and the back patio door continues to drop each year and needs adjusting regularly. Our pipes were also wired incorrectly to the boiler causing more issues and we had a leak in our airing cupboard. All these issues were very poorly dealt with and most stay unresolved today. Therefore I would rate the building management and property build very poor.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Local shops on our door stop which is convenient. Shame doctors aren’t closer. Bus route but only covers one side of estate.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Know our rights with faults when buying new builds. Getting issues solved.

What is the best feature of your home:

Location of house to where the shops, school and lakes are.

Lovely neighbourhood!!

Review Date Feb 2021

I love the design and the quality of the homes. It has great facilities and a lovely neighbourhood feel to the development. I feel content whilst driving home through the close.
There are great scenic views around the development amazing for walks and runs particularly during this pandemic.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It would be great if the layout of certain areas of the house was better; to allow for ergonomics and installation of certain white goods.
Also it would be amazing if there better transport links to the centre or more local shops. Finally, outside the paved areas, it feels quite like a marshland where the grass area holds so much water and therefore makes it difficult to go for walks. It raises concerns of flooding if there is continuous rain for a few days.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I had great difficulty installing my washing machine. The distance between the space allocation for my washing machine and the drainage is too great; along with the slots provided for cable tidy towards the drainage is too awkward to access.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, the have been very helpful whenever I spoken to them.

Great family/ community feel

Verified Resident

Review Date Jan 2021

The estate is looked after well, during the summer months the grass is cut regularly and the shrubs trimmed. There is not litter everywhere and even if some is dropped we usually pick it up while walking the dog. There are a couple of lakes and some wooded areas nice for a stroll round and of course nice to take the dog as well.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Been here for 12 years first on Skye Cresent and now Grenada Cresent. In these years the estate has grown considerably and we now have a good school so excellent for families or those planning a family. The local Asda means I don’t have to run into Bletchley every time I run out of something. If like me you like a decent coffee I can also recommend the local Costa. All the neighbors are lovely and friendly and there is a real come together feel about the place. This is an ideal estate is you have a family and if you are just planning on an investment property as I know these also let out easily.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

No tips to give unless like me they are a first time buyer I would have wished to have a better understanding of the process.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

There was an issue with the roof and it was raised and sorted within weeks to a satisfactory result.

Happy residents happy communities

Verified Resident

Review Date Feb 2021

I am happy about the building design and property management.
They cleaning very regularly and very nicely inside and outside the building. But the dump yard makes such a horrible smell throughout the year. It’s so unbearable. According to me that’s where the huge big developments failed. The local community is not happy at all about this.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I am really happy about this area development. I would like to give you some suggestions that I think would be great for the community.
1) dental surgery
2) pet daycare
3) Lidl or Aldi local shops ( because many people go to Bletchley to do shopping at Lidle or Aldi. Some people don’t like Asda.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The main thing we concerned about is the dump yard. They said they are going to move it with in few months time.
But it’s been long years now. It’s still there and getting bigger

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

So far they did it so well. Some staff members who ever attended for my problems honestly try to help me

Great house with great value

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2021

The design of the estate is questionable with lack of parking for visitors as most households have 2 cars these days but the houses are well built and insulated. The management of the grounds is great and the upkeep is done throughout the year. Cannot complain at all

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is good. Amenities on the estate are brilliant for families. There is a local supermarket, takes aways and coffee shop.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The community here is great. All neighbours look after each other and as the estate is large, the variety of peoples jobs helps when it comes to needing trades people

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes and they did so quickly and efficiently. One email and the problem is sorted

Spacious estate

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2021

Although it’s a big development never feels over crowded.
New estates normally have quite limited parking available but roads are wide with plenty of parking bays
Need to be quicker with completing roads and road sweeping. Nails aren’t great on the roads for Tyres!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Local shops and good schools.
Nice walks
Not enough street lighting

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just how large the dumping tip would be

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes within a timely manner too. Was happy to help with little things not completed on snagging list
