The road quality is terrible. I'm hoping they will improve it.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is great. Close to the river and near enough to Southampton and the motorway. Near to Victoria Country park. There is some anti social behaviour on the estate. Parking isn't great, not enough spaces for houses and you can hear the road.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The size the estate was going to become and how long it would be being developed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

Bigger kitchen in hindsight, also the upstairs is uncomfortably hot in summer.

Pros and cons!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location wise, this development is perfect. It is incredibly close to the M27 (albeit the traffic getting to and from can be a nightmare), Hedge End is a matter of minutes away and it is a direct route into Southampton City Centre via either bridge, There is a large Tesco and some local shops within walking distance, as well as a gym and larger stores. Parking is a bit of a nightmare if you don't have an allocated space, there are several issues surrounding antisocial behaviour and shared bins are diabolically overfilled. The road through the estate is also incredibly bumpy due to building works and there have been numerous reports of nails in tyres.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I haven't raised any issues so far, so cannot comment.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had been informed that the Hamble Lane entrance to the estate was going to be permanently closed. We only have the Bursledon Road entrance and whilst I understand it would have been used as a shortcut, this would have impacted my decision to buy

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Kestrel park is close to a large supermarket and the city is easily accessible by car. There are no local transport links at all, no buses or train stations close by, so to live here, being a car owner is a must. There is limited parking, visitors bays are not reflective of the number of properties onsite, and residents often use them instead of their own spaces or driveways, which is frustrating. There is a large country park opening right next to the development which will not have its own parking and will undoubtedly bring an influx of cars parking on the roads on the estate. Bin collections are regular and very rarely missed. Traffic noise varies on your location on the estate. There have been numerous instances of attempted break ins into vehicles since the development opened. Quality of gardens is ABYSMAL.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That new build estates tend to be full of people who consider themselves “elite” in comparison to others.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

Our garden. This seems to be a common complaint amongst residents. Quality is shocking.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location is great for access to the M27- Portsmouth and Southampton. But close enough to walk to the country parks and are located close by. Local amenities also only a short walk away.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The management scheme cost and handover process, seems unfair that some are paying and others aren’t.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

The progress of the development or at least an honest time frame of completion of local amenties
