Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in my local area has both positives and drawbacks. There’s a good range of local shops, with independent stores and well-known supermarkets within walking distance. Restaurants and cafés are varied and generally high quality, though bars are a bit limited unless you head into the nearby town centre. Open spaces are a real strength—plenty of parks, walking paths, and a large common that’s great for families and dog walkers. Public transport is decent, with regular bus services and a train station nearby, though buses can be unreliable at off-peak times. Rush-hour trains are often crowded, but they do connect well to major cities. Bin collections are usually on time, and anti-social behaviour is rare, though there can be occasional noise from traffic during school drop-off and pick-up times. Overall, it’s a pleasant area to live in, especially for families and professionals

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been somewhat responsive—minor issues are usually handled in a reasonable time, but larger concerns like drainage or road repairs have faced delays and often require follow-up before being resolved. Communication could be clearer.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I’d known before moving in is that some parts of the development, including roads and drainage, were still unfinished and hadn’t been adopted by the council. This has led to delays in maintenance and uncertainty over long-term responsibility. I’d also advise new neighbours to check the service charge terms carefully and ask for a clear breakdown from the property management company, as communication about this isn’t always straightforward. On the positive side, the community is friendly and the area feels safe, which doesn’t always come across during a quick viewing.

Manager response

Hi Jeff, Thank you for your wonderful and detailed feedback! We're so pleased to hear that you are happy with your home, you'd recommend the local area as a place to live and Simple Life as your landlord. Please note that our residents are not subject to a service charge. Any service charges are covered by us as a landlord on behalf of our residents. Hopefully you are making good use of the maintenance reporting tool which should give you regular updates as to maintenance fix timeframes etc. If this is not the case, then please report to the team so we can investigate this for you. The road topping is the responsibility of the housebuilder, however with this being a slightly older development we would expect this to have been completed. We will pass this feedback on to our development management team to pick up with the housebuilder - thank you for sharing this information with us.

They haven’t fixed any of them in the 3 1/2 years I have lived here

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We love the area, residential and quiet but also convenient. The station in at the end of the road and all the shops you might need are very close!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The garden isn't flat (we didn't see the house because of Covid)

What is the best feature of your home:

Garden and kitchen especially the dryer/washing machine and the dishwasher. We also found a shed outside that has been very useful
