The James has a design language and identity that I think nails what they offer. The design shows attention to detail, genuine thought, elegance, and modern convenience, e.g. the exclusive app.
I saw this with the choice of furniture and fixtures (in the private studios and communal lounge). Everything feels premium.
Put it this way: When someone asked where I live, I felt proud while answering them.
Communal facilities like the lounge and gym are well-equipped. Having them in the same property is incredibly convenient.
The lounge gave me a space where I could earn 3 promotions in a year and a half. From starting out as a Copywriter, I became a Product Marketing Specialist, then a Brand Marketing Specialist. And the workstation in my studio, combined with the design, got me into my most productive mindset.
I could work with fellow residents in the lounge, and we’d learn from each other while enjoying the workday more.
Our bonds became strong quite quickly because we took part in the weekly social events together too. I really cherish the relationships that came with making The James my home.
On the whole, The James was more than an amazing home to me. It was a space that added value to every area of my life.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
I can’t think of a location with better access to the finest experiences in Liverpool. I have so many fun memories at All Bar One, Restaurant Bar and Grill, The Alchemist, Gaucho — the list goes on and on. And each of them was a few minutes away at most. Being in this spot means walking in the area feels safe at any time.
Being at The James helped me meet people to have these adventures, which made it all much more fun.
Then there’s Liverpool One just 3 minutes away if you take the path between the Queen Victoria statue and the courthouse. Loads and loads of eateries, shopping facilities, and leisure activities.
Nights out and things like that are better suited to Bold Street, Matthew Street, and Concert Square. The furthest is only a 15-minute walk away at most.
Just cross the road and you’re at the — in my opinion — majestic docks. Great place for fresh air, a jog outside, or just looking at something beautiful and natural.
Basically, it feels like everything is at your fingertips.
You can explore it all or just figure out your preferences. But this is the part of town where it’s all possible and convenient.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The James was more than a home. It was a base for my entire lifestyle and development. That was a wonderful surprise.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Anything I popped into the exclusive app was handled very quickly, within the hour.
