This is what new build housing should be!

Love the high ceilings, fully fitted kitchen which includes very high quality fittings, appliances and marble top. Graham the sales manager has been nothing but perfection and helped us out from our 1st enquiry to a year after moving in and Northstone have been incredibly devoted to any of our snagging needs.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We have a wide variety of small and large supermarkets e.g. Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Sainsburys etc. There is a lot of choice on Westhoughton market with loads of your usual cuisines and also very unique boutique restaurants such as Provenance, Nabucco and We are kitchen. Westhoughton has developed a much larger and classier choice of bars over the last 5 years including Koo, Absolute, Beer school and the refurbished Wheatsheaf. Very close to motorway and also has 2 train stations and Uber widely accessible. Parking is stunning and secure, very well organised Bon collection points and no anti-social behaviour around Silkash.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Learn how to use all the features and appliances e.g delivery box, Wondrwall at an earlier stage so I could utilise them much sooner as they are very useful.

What is the best feature of your home:

Love the windows, roofing and brick design of the houses and also the open floor kitchen/front room.

Fantastic customer services at the moment. 🫰

Spacious area for public.
Quite a lot green area designed and managed.
Only worse thing is the designed two entrances / exits to the development has changed to one. Therefore, there is just one exit/ entrance while it’s next to a high school & leisure centre. People just park even there is a double yellow line when there is event held. This is the only less favourable side of the development.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Never in lack of restaurants and bars, neither barbers 💈 nor supermarkets. Walkable distance to train stations though trains often go on strike. Frequent Buses access to Bolton town centre and Wigan town centre. Good primary schools around. Easy to get parking spaces. Bin collections go quite regular— once per two weeks.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I hope I could notice the utility room for three bedrooms plots could not facilitate both washing machine and dryer in advanced.

What is the best feature of your home:

It’s a smart living home. We could just use the apps to control the lighting and heating when we first move it.

Beautiful modern homes in a lovely location. Well recommended.

Love the design of Northstone homes, open and airy with loads of natural light due to the floor to ceiling windows. The downstairs lootility is awesome, allowing noisy laundry to be kept behind a closed door.

Mine is a 2-bed semi-detached Seven68 (768sq ft). Being a single working professional, it’s perfect size for me. But there are various sized homes on the development, right up to 1300sq ft 4 bedroom detached.

Apparently the builds materials are calculated precisely prior to build so there’s no wastage and mine came with solar panels/EV charger and wastewater heat recapture systems included. That along with triple glazing means my energy bills will be next to nothing. Considering I came from an old property with energy bills as high as £200 a month, this is a very much welcomed relief.

If you’re interested in a Northstone home, go and view one of their showhomes. Trust me, you won’t leave disappointed. The build quality and attention to detail is the best I’ve seen, hands down.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Nestled just on the outskirts of Barrowford, a stones throw from Motorway and bypass. Makes travel a breeze as within 60 seconds you’re up on the motorway.

There’s plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk.

Development is quite small currently so very quiet streets, suspect this may change as more homes are completed. But even still, anticipate no issues with traffic or road noise. Every home has a driveway so street parking shouldn’t be an issue.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That its far too easy to overspend on new furniture.

What is the best feature of your home:

Difficult to say one feature. Floor to ceiling windows. Massive garden and 2 car driveway. Energy efficient. Built in appliances. Lootility room. Broadband live on day one etc etc the list goes on.

Overall very happy with the building management and customer aftercare so far

Overall very happy with the building management and customer aftercare so far. Ste the site manager has been great and the few issues we’ve had (even for things outside of his control with contractors) he has always been accessible and helps us. The moving in process was very smooth as well with Kerry and the team which made the move very easy and was again very helpful. Houses are built to a high standard, any snags that came up Ste and his team quickly resolved. The designs of the house are really good and very modern, garden slightly on the smaller side. Houses are very spacious, big windows which let a lot of light in and high ceilings. There is a lot of greenery around the development which is nice and are well maintained so far (grass cut, trees planted and plants). One negative is we’ve noticed there is quite a lot of litter scattered around, specifically at the front on the grass verge.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Lots of local shops and supermarkets nearby, primrose farm opposite which is great and a nice quiet pub/food venue. Transport is good, train station nearby and you can quickly get into the town centre. Two retail parks very close and gyms nearby. Bin collection is fine, have a designated bin collection point, due to being an end property the bins have to be in front of our house which isn’t ideal but not the end of the world. Traffic noise is fine, triple glazed windows but can still slightly hear cars go past, boy racers seem to like nice quiet road outside with their annoying loud cars. Parking is a bit of a negative, only have 2 spaces and no space for visitors outside house. Also difficult to reverse out of drive due to being in a nook and an end property, have to reverse into next doors drive or reverse all the way backwards out of the nook

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Not at the fault of the developer but as we bought after the house had been built there wasn’t many customisation options. However looking at other builds it looks like there are many available if you buy at the beginning of the journey.

What is the best feature of your home:

We really really the high ceilings and spacious rooms. We also love the lootility and bathroom with a shower and bath fitted.
