A2Dominion reviews

“West Plaza is an attractive, gated development in the heart of Ashford, overlooking the open water of the Staines Reservoirs and the greenery that envelopes them. Despite its peaceful countryside credentials, the area is extremely well connected, so it’s easy to see why so many big businesses have set up camp here – Apple, Canon and Toshiba all have local HQs.” HomeViews Property Pro, West Plaza.

Modern building

My boyfriend owns our flat and I moved in 2 years ago. He had previously rented in Angel but found it was much better value for money buying around here instead – he could get a 2 bed flat instead of a 1 bed and he now can walk to work.

The flat is really nice with a great layout. It feels modern and all the fixtures and fittings are done well with a great kitchen and balcony. Whenever friends come over people comment on how lovely it is. One thing I don’t like is that there is not much storage.

The lifts do break occasionally but we have an amazing on-site cleaner who is like a warden, she reports things immediately to A2 Dominion and they get sorted quite quickly by management, it does feel like we are being looked out for. We had an issue with security as the recycling room was left unlocked and homeless people were living in there and it felt unsafe.  Whilst we don’t have a concierge, they increased security for a while and got it sorted out.

The best standout features of the development are the amazing roof terraces, there are two and they are huge. They are really quiet, with lots of space and the most amazing views of the city. I definitely recommend going up there for sunset.

The residents don’t tend to mix much in terms of events though people speak when on the roof terrace, there is also a facebook group where residents discuss any issues.

I would definitely consider a new build again – I love the modern finish and the fact there are few issues with the flats as everything is new so no leaks. My colleagues have all been talking this week about the fact they haven’t slept in the heatwave, but our building is so well ventilated that it is warm in the winter but cool in the summer and we haven’t had that issue.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I used to rent in Dalston and West London but find the connections here are so much better – it has halved my commute to work. There are not many things to do on your doorstep but I like the park and the canal.
There is a great coffee shop called Husk that has live music, poetry reading, creative nights and children events. We are also neat The Narrow which is Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant which is great for lunch and the Gandolf pub. Canary Wharf is a one mile walk away which has loads to offer.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is parking available at an extra cost and some people who have spaces rent them out if you want one.

Silent serene luxury facility

This property is a luxury serene peaceful block of flats. The community is safe and peaceful. There is a lovely balcony view for the flat, the wine cooler and stone top kitchen design is also very nice. Although the place is quiet and neighbours do not interact as much we do have the occassional party. Our roof top on Merchant Building is the highest and best in terms of view compared to the other two roof tops on the City Wharf compound. The building is smoothly run although at the moment we have a minor problem of our intercom being broken.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This is a silent peceful facility with a lovely interior garden where you caneed come down and experience the outdoor feel while still being indoors. The community is very peaceful and safe. Neighbours do not interact as much because this is a private urban high rise but we do have the occassional party.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The building forces you to use a smart meters based on credit which still charges you even when you go on vacation for example.

Home is where we live ?

The design and structure of all the flats are good. A2dominion manages our property and they have given excellent service for us so far. No complains at all. Good team work ?
Design of flats are amazing and I like the view from my window. We have a lovely view of reservoir from our living room.

I pretty much like everything around here. Very quiet residents and peaceful environment. All the shops at round the corner and transport is very good.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

My neighbours are very good and we help each other when needed.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Keeping neat and tidy due to COVID because many ppl come and go

Average place, could be better

The flats are too small and crowded for a family to live in, I’ve lived here 8 years now and the design is not that great, there is no storage here and we have 2 bedrooms but the floor plan is good.
The flat was unfurnished when we moved in, we didn’t even have flooring here which is really bad.
It’s very convenience and useful to live near shops and the station.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The noise of the planes is very loud here.
It’s very close to shops, the GPS and schools etc.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We don’t have allocated parking, there are too many cars to actually find a place here.
