Very good commuting

Verified Resident

Just a really good solid flat for my needs right now.
It’s name always makes me smile sounding like something from the old ages, but it’s so modern, so cool and so easy!
I love the outdoor space and the amount of trees.
My landlord is a bit of a pain and seems to regret doing anything but that should be no reflection on the building or developer.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

So easy to get everywhere – I can run to work in Canary Wharf very easily

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That my landlord would have been such a ****!

A place good for city workers and family

Verified Resident

I have been living here since Dec 2016 and I am enjoying it. Good location for me to get to canary wharf and the city.

The flat layout is good and is very spacious.

Central hot water really makes a difference in my winter bill when heating is on most of time. In particular good if you are couple or a family.

The only downside for me is that the I live in the front row building facing A13/East India Dock Road, so sometimes it can be noisy. Though they have put windows in the balcony, it has helped a lot, this also means less dust in the living room.

I heard that from phase 3 of this development, there will be more going on, such as shops, pharmacy store, etc.? Best efforts are made to well maintaining the communal areas. This place is also family friendly.

There will be 5 phases in total. It will take time but I can certainly see that this place will only get better and better. We now have an excellent and convenient concierge service. Staff here are very friendly and professional. They always do their best to help.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like the transport links, flat size, concierge service and staff, water fountain and green space.
Don’t like when I see some random groups of people sitting there and smoking.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The front row building can be a bit noisy but I guess it’s everywhere for London. Living by a main road, the traffic noise, police siren and ambulance, can be disturbing.

Easy living in a peaceful community – Aberfeldy Village is the ultimate antidote to busy city life

Aberfeldy Village sounds more olde-world storybook than modern residential hub. And there’s a definite peaceful, idyllic tone to this buy-or-rent development from EcoWorld London. The idea was to create a serene community that puts everything at residents’ fingertips. That said, the facilities list includes a 24-hour concierge service, dedicated work space for professionals, a comfortable residents’ lounge, and a state-of-the-art gym.

The same ‘easy-living’ mantra goes for the development’s location. Aberfeldy Village has a privileged setting in East India Docks, with fantastic transport links to Canary Wharf (four minutes), the City (15 minutes) and Bond Street (20 minutes) via nearby Canning Town and the East India DLR Station. Cyclists, especially, will love the opportunities in the local area, with Victoria Park, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City all bike-able in under 20 minutes. And if you’re jetting out of the capital for a spell, London City Airport is just a 12-minute drive away.

The buildings at Aberfeldy Village have been constructed in a way that pays homage to the surrounding area. The smooth brickwork and king-size windows nod to the factories and warehouses that once framed the docks. Floorplans include studios, one and two-bedroom apartments, each with their own private balcony. Whichever you choose, they all feature a thoroughly contemporary aesthetic, courtesy of award-winning consultant, Suna Interior Design. Colour palettes range from calm neutrals to bolder, darker tones, with a mix of wood-effect and carpet flooring, quality fixtures and furnishings, and stylish bathroom suites.

Outdoors, the architects (from renowned Levitt Bernstein) have made the most of the site, with green courtyards, tree-lined pathways and well-tended flowerbeds sitting in contrast to the more industrial looking building facades. The set-up makes for a tranquil space to relax away from the capital’s hustle and bustle.

Great development but could do with social engagement

Verified Resident

Fantastic we have a concierge and a gym now. However there is no local shop and there’s no element for any social activity with other residents. I’d really like to see a Facebook group set up so residents can talk about issues and plan social activity

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great location and near the Jubilee and DLR lines and close to Stratford and Canary Wharf. However there’s no walkable supermarket.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The lack of social engamemt with other residents and that the gym and conerige wouldn’t open for a year
