A Place You Can Call Home

The development is stunning, set within Brenley Park, former playing fields. There is ample green space and a joy to be in. I have lived here for the past 2 years and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I feel safe and secure, there is very little antisocial behaviour in an area where it could be questioned otherwise. The service charges are very reasonable and much cheaper than many other estates, it is well maintained and the management team incredibly responsive and supportive.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Aventine Avenue is set just 10 minutes walk from Mitcham Eastfields with direct trains into Central London. It is a 5 minute walk from the stunning Mitcham Common which is a real hidden gem. There is a local convenience store, along with fish and chip shop and barbers. It takes around 15 minutes to walk in to the town centre.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish i had bought a property here with more bedrooms!

What is the best feature of your home:

Natural sunlight, the designers thought about every aspect when it came to planning this build and there is natural light in abundance. I also feel as though we are in a private development as it is well inclosed away from the main roads.

Definitely one of the better ones

Built 2010 to a high specification and standard. They have held up well compared to other new builds. Good and safe location. Very little problems on estate and with neighbours. Service and ground rent is a bit high, and estate management is at sane low standard as all developments in London seem to be. Definitely had a better experience here than most of my friends in similar developments.

Please tell us more about the location and surrounding area to your development
7 min walk to rail atation, well served by buses, to access Nearby Piccadilly line. Close to small shops and large superstore. Lots of nice pubs a short walk, and close to river.

Please share one thing (or more) that you wish you had known before you moved in:
Location is obviously under Heathrow flight path, but you get used to the noise and the expansion should not increase this.

Easy access to Richmond and the local park

It is not bad here, compared to other places in London. Facility-wise, there are some bits and bobs. A downside here is the proximity of the council block. It is causing a lot of issues, like, antisocial behaviour, there is rubbish everywhere, the kids are playing regardless of the fact that the ball games are banned. The people from the council block are also causing disruptions, consuming alcohol and other substances in public places. The management company is not looking after the council block which is an issue while the Local council is not easy to get ahold of.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I love the easy access to the park, it is not far from the river and Richmond. The development is close to the train station, it takes only 7 minutes to get there.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known about the council block, we didn’t pay attention how many flats have been allocated to the council block.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I would either add an extra room in my flat or remove the second bathroom. One bathroom would have been enough for a 2 bedroom flat.

Issues with the car park

We don’t have car park which I dislike, we have lifts which is easier when you have kids. The security is okay too. We live in a 2 bedroom flat , of good size and at the moment fits us. There is a lot of traffic on the passage because of the car park , which is outside. Sometimes there are no enough spaces and we have to park on the street. On the upper floor it gets too hot in the summer.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It is very quiet and well connected with transport. There are nice schools around and it is not a bad place for kids as well. The location is good and I do not feel worried about my children’s safety.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We don’t have enough car park spaces. I wish I had known about the number of car park spaces allocated for each flat.

What is the best feature of your home:

The balcony, because we have more fresh air coming and we can get enough light in the flat.
