Thornsett
Thornsett is a family-owned residential developer based in London and Brussels. Founded in 1986, they have vast hands on experience at every stage of the property development process. They are currently working on 10 new projects across London alone. Charterhouse the Square and Sesame Apartments are both Thornsett developments listed on HomeViews. Charterhouse the Square is located a short walk from Barbican station, which is serviced by the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. Sesame Apartments is comprised of 73 one and two-bedroom apartments, with a youth club on the lower floors. “The apartment is really nice – it is spacious, modern and there is a great balcony. We also have pretty nice views from the apartment. It is cheap to run utilities-wise which is a real bonus. The concierge service is generally very good (although you have to ring them to get hold of them). In terms of facilities, the courtyard within the residence is very attractive and pleasant but sadly there is not a gym.” Verified resident, Charterhouse the Square.

Cladding removal on development

There's currently scaffolding on this development due to cladding issues. The replacement of cladding will last more than a year. The flat is nice, 1bed without balcony feels a bit small. No mechanical ventilation in the bathroom so it tends to get very warm, smelly and wet (during shower) inside. Kitchen is well equiped, but the fridge is smaller than the freezer. Washing machine is located in one of the cupboards in the kitchen so there's less space for pots and pans.

It is quite far from shops and the roads are noisy. The road by the brewery is always blocked but it is advantageous that the river is close by. The concierge is a good service to have and is very useful for close to station. Good value and really spacious.

It is designed really well and feels really spacious. Living room is open plan and i have a balcony but it does overlooks the construction. Small issues with the bathroom and the agency took 3 months to fix the bathroom to the point where I had to keep using my neighbours.

There is little storage space inside the apartment. The wardrobes manufacturer was given to us with the wrong name so could not replace or extend it when wanted. There should be a balcony in the apartment and the windows are really hard to clean from the living room. How are the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised? There are times where things get done quickly but when lift took a long time to fix.

The apartment is amazing and they are really spacious for the price. We have a large window that allows you to open up completely onto the courtyard. Both the bedrooms are sized well and have a bathroom separately to each other, the bedrooms is really spacious.
