Housing association review - The property design is perfect for myself and my son.

The property design is perfect for myself and my son. The building management have always been good at dealing with any questions or repairs as have the property management. The property management is slightly harder to get in touch with but do eventually sort out any issues!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is on the outskirts of town and benefits from being in the countryside so there are lots of nice walks and scenery around. Hopefully there will be shops and a park closer to the development in the next couple of years as it is a considerable walk/drive to get to anywhere.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes - I had a few minor issues within the first year of living here and all issues were resolved.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The local bus services have been cut which makes it more difficult to try and use the car less, especially as it takes around an hour or longer to walk into town.

Lovely location new build by canal

A lovely location set by the canal and not like a typical new build area where there is loads of blocks. Good views of the canal and good green spaces around. Outdoor area and car parking available. Lovely walking routes near by. Perfect for a first home.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lovely location next to the canal, walking distance to shops, pubs, supermarket and train station but set back from busy main road.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very difficult at first when alarms were going off, have not had issues since to report.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

No access to underground unless you have a car park space, makes it awkward to get the bike in the storage.

    Beautiful development in picturesque countryside

The development is beautiful and very well maintained both internally and the outside. The management is always responsive and tries to address issues immediately. The property comes with all basic facilities and furnishing and it’s been an amazing experience living here!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Apsley/ Hemel Hempstead is a clean green old town with excellent links to London via 30min overground train to Euston station and M25 nearby, which makes it ideal to work in London without compromising a quality life in the outer skirts. The local town centre has a selection of stores to meet all the basic lifestyle needs ranging from M&S, TK Max, and everything else. There’s a sports centre and a hospital in Hemel with plenty of pubs, cafes and an old town centre. The surrounding areas have plenty of beautiful hikes and walks like Chiltern Hills, Pitstone hill.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The development is quick and responsive of any issues we have raised

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The property came in with all basic furnishing but lacked storage and so we had to built our own customised wardrobes.

    Nice estate and good location.

Good quiet estate with a public footpath network easily accessible down the hill Houses are well built and maintained with a dog free park near the main road and a stoned footpath round the majority of the estate. Good links to Oakwood, Breadsall and into Derby. Grass is also maintained.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Local shops, take away and meeting hall approximately 10 minutes walk away. Good access into Derby city centre via a number of bus routes which has a great range of bars.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Redrow were responsive when contacted, and repairs were usually very quick.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

No feedback. The process was smooth and worked well.

    Rushed build

I feel as though not enough time was given to the builders as since I’ve lived in the property there has been constant issues like mould and damp, severe cracking to the walls and scurting, heating issues and doors not being correctly installed. Personally I feel as though more time was needed to build these properties

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It is in an excellent location. Structure wise though it is my opinion that the property has been built as quickly as possible as now there is multiple issues

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Well I was awaiting somebody to come out to examine mould in my property for 10 months and I have severe breathing difficulties and a young child in the property

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That repairs would likely have to be done myself as the housing association won’t sort them
