Great for dog walking

The green areas, especially the fields at the end of the stray are lovely,I can walk my dogs round there, hardly ever meet anyone and it’s like being in the countryside, you forget its a housing estate. I am a bit concerned about the way a lot of the houses seem to be thrown up,some seem to be moved into before they are finished and builders are coming back and doing stuff after residents have moved in. I am also concerned as since I moved in I have developed breathing issues and so have my neighbours, both me and my next door neighbour have been diagnosed with asthma after never having it before and the neighbour nextdoor along who had asthma when she was a kid now has it again and her and her family has had chest infections. We have reported the mould growing in every room throughout the houses to greensquare but was told its not there problem!!

Having the shops in the village now are great although shops and pubs are in walking distance. It’s a great place for owning and walking dogs as plenty of green areas and lit footpaths leading from the village to other parts of Swindon. Car drivers, especially builders drive way to fast through the village and seems to be a lot of weed being smoked. There is certain areas where the police seem to visit regularly and nothing seems to to get done with those residents. Mainly the people and the atmosphere here is lovely but there are also several households that don’t appreciate the property that they have been literally given and make it miserable for the people that live around them. I’m lucky,my road is great,my neighbours are lovely but I know its not the same for everyone.

The property isn’t the best with wonky walls and dodgy plumbing.

The property isn’t the best with wonky walls and dodgy plumbing.
The garden was on clay and flooded alot
There isn’t alot of storage.
And the plumbing under the sink has been cut too short ehich has led to leaking under the sink and the smell where the seal isn’t sealed properly going into the drain has been awful.
The views are lovely.

Everything is lovely walking distance, schools shops walks parks.
We’re looking forward to more parks appearing.

The amount of council houses by me

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It’s taken a while but lockdown hasn’t helped we feel it would have been done quicker.

Not impressed, can’t wait to move

As above. Feel miss sold. No work been done on snag list, issues with neighbours on housing association. Windows on houses poor quality and roads always left dangerous and slippery.

Also an issue with the primary school parents using streets to park cars and block junctions making it extremely dangerous

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Messing streets and building work left unkept. Muddy roads and noisy road sweep 24/7 which makes it difficult to sleep. Children screaming round the clock at the park, could do with a gate and time it opens and closes. Anti social behaviour and load parties from housing association houses aswell as unkept front of houses. Kids playing in the street and around cars. Unacceptable and feel miss sold on property

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Miss sold completely, was not told about he amount of housing association homes – disappointed

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have called and chased up emails with very little response

Loving Garden Village Life

Feel lucky to live here, its a lovely looking development. It feels fresh and modern but is still very new. The open spaces are well maintained with a lot of community input. There are still lots of on going building works and I am looking forward to the roads being completed and the new play park hopefully being built.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Its great that there is a local shop and beautiful open spaces. It would be good to have a takeaway or similar but plenty near by. Love my street but too many cannabis smokers about which is a shame. Its nice and quiet & great for schools & wildlife.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The community spirit is second to none with lots to get involved with.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any issues have been resolved quickly & smoothly. I had to go via the housing associated to organise.
