First Base is a privately-owned mixed-use developer, which specialises in placemaking and urban regeneration. First Base aims to "create a mix of workspace, modern retail, hotels, homes and cultural uses to revitalise high streets and town centres across the UK". They are currently working on over 19 projects across the UK, including some in: London, Bristol and Brighton. Highbury Gardens is a First Base development listed on HomeViews. This development is comprised of 119 apartments and is located on Holloway Road, a prime area of London for shopping and for great transport links into Central London. Highbury Gardens is a mixed-use scheme which "marries the best of neo-classical architecture and modern design" as having been designed by Porphyrios Associates. Residents on HomeViews have complimented this development for it's great location and the buildings' exceptional security.

    Decent complex close to the station. Fairly expensive but that's what you get for convenience. Located close to Highbury Fields so there's some greenery to frolic in. Some decent restaurants and cafes around. It's definitely more expensive than south of the river though.

    A little grungy near the courthouse. Some interesting characters floating around.

    The hot water fails regularly and the doorbell that calls your phone is a right pain!

    What is the best feature of your home:

    Big doors in the bedroom and living room to let in some fresh air.

    The development is close to the station and main street. I dislike about this area that the renting cost is very high. The crime is not much an issue in the area. I am happy with the spaciousness in my flat. A garden is missing

    I like about this area that the location is great

    I wish I knew before moving in here that there is an issue with the heating.

    One thing I would change about my flat is the heating fixed. No hot water occassionally. Main boiler issue

    Nice inside the flat electric problem water people come and check but the problems are still there they dont fix it. It has got worse i the last few years so sometimes cold in the winter whilst living here

    I like that its very connected but its busy there is police presecne in the park opposite

    I wish I knew that pets are not allowed to be here in the flats and that there is car parking space problem

    Heating not good its a big problem, theres a broken floor and I have been waiting a year to get it fixed people come and look at it but its not been fixed the service is very bad so wouldnt recommend landlord

    Nice neighbours quite social and the area is quiet safe and very connected to tube and overground its also good for the children

    The heating is never fixed and its very difficult to get things fixed here

    I dislike about this area that the council tax here is one of the highest in the area. The crime in the area is heard of although I have not experienced it. Just sometimes feel unsafe. I am very happy with the room sizes and design. Insulation is great

    I like about this area that it is close to parks and cafes

    The building management has responded very well to issues raised. Great mailing system

    There is nothing that I wish I knew before moving in here apart from difficulty from travelling fro stansted to here from airport
