Good - lovely open spaces, at least 3 parks and fields leading to river. Great coffee shop, barbers and hairdressers and Sainsburys. Great community spirit - lots of events put on such as allotment open days with stalls and produce, Remembrance Sunday service, litter picks, carol singing. Good Primary and secondary schools. Bad - parking not great. Huge 5 bed houses with drive way space for 2 cars for example. Lots of cars parking on main roads means rush hour and school drop off/pick is horrendous. For a huge estate it still feels quite spacious compared to Red House/Oakhurst for example - wide roads and houses not on top of each other. Strange design/layout in some areas for example a neighbour can’t get their wheelie bin out of their garden easily as they have to go up a step.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very very slow to act - gave up on chasing many things.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had know there was such a thing as professional snaggers, and that shared ownership owners only have a 1 year warranty (not sure that is the right word) to raise defects. (‘normal’ homeowners have longer than 1 year to raise defects)

The layout of the estate is nice and it’s not too big, the green in the centre is lovely and in the summer is full of children playing. The trim trail /play area’s are fab (been slow to open but are now open) the management of the building is brilliant and always had any issues attended to quickly.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The estate is situated between Winchester and Eastleigh, so access to lots of areas. The village had a co-op and post office along with a pub, takeaway and drs/dentist. The estate it’s self has a nice open green in the centre along with play area sections around the edges along with a woodland walk. There is plenty of parking and I have not had any issues living on my road. There are children outplaying on the green but personally not experienced any issues.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Great area to be in with lots of facilities - lovely quiet area, never been disturbed!

What is the best feature of your home:

Lounge/ kitchen lovely open space and view outside of window onto green is an added bonus!

Well managed and engineered only had one issue which was then solved swiftly without any further problems. Apart from this the design and quality is up to a high standard. The gardens could of been designed a bit better as we have small dips in our grass.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The amount of buses that go in and out of colden common is hopefully to be increased in the future please.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish i had known what our neighbours would be like.

What is the best feature of your home:

The dishwasher on the en-suite in one of the bedrooms.

Property is nice size. Good to have downstairs toilet too.

Property is nice size. Good to have downstairs toilet too. However the walls are all plasterboard and when my coat rack fell off it came to my attention that it was put up without using correct fixings which makes me worry about the rest of the house if something so simple wasn’t done properly. My stair skirting is all cracked and coming away from the stairs. And the front door eye piece gets too much moisture inside to be able to see out. I have already had to have my front door handle fixed too. Garden is a slope too which creates problems for my children. It could have been levelled out.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Local shop is awful, never had any stock always looks like it’s about to close down. Transport to Winchester is awful one bus an hour which is almost guaranteed to be late. Parking spaces aren’t marked with numbers so I struggle to park in my own spaces, with 2 young children this is very infuriating. Neighbours park out the front of my house so that’s never an option either. Where my house is the bins are a struggle to get in and out too. Young children seem to roam around the estate causing various problems. I get lots of rubbish out the front of my house too.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That you would have to drive to go anywhere really.

What is the best feature of your home:

Nice size rooms, having a downstairs toilet, having a garden

The development has looked tatty for quite some time and is obviously work in progress but the playground areas have been abandoned and the grass frequently needs cutting. We have listed our snags to Taylor Wimpey but only a few of the problems were resolved after various emails being sent and received. We love the area and are happy with the location and the house itself.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We are very happy with local shops and services. We could use a petrol station nearer. We find it quiet where we are and have had no issues with neighbours.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we knew about the park area right outside our front door.

What is the best feature of your home:

We love the top floor of our town house. The garden is also a good size.
