PLEASE THINK BEFORE BUYING ANY PROPERTIES FROM THIS DEVELOPER!! I have bought my property in Milton Keynes Eagles Rest last year, despite thousands of emails, to the management team, 12 months later my house is still a mess. Whenever any builder appear, they will do half of the job, say they will come back tomorrow and never return. My garden is a disgrace… it has numerous of uneven places and despite asking for 12 months, complany is unbothered. Reporting any problems is a problem itself. They either don’t reply or promise someone will come eventually.. here we go a year later, where I have several issues inside the house and outside. There are so many better developers out there, don’t be fooled with good reviews. My family bought 2 houses almost next door to us and guess what? They are dealing with the same issues! It got to the point where one our family members fighting anxiety because the house was given in unfinished condition. We all regret making a decision to purchase the houses from David Wilson. Also, my neighbour after purchasing the property and moving in had to move out for the SECOND TIME as the house itself is not levelled and unsafe to live. Ever since neighbour in Eagles Rest is fighting for some justice, however no one seems to care that all the houses in this development got issues. Please see all the Facebook groups that will tell you and warn you before buying - I regret that no one told me that before purchasing…

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nothing aroud! no shops or buses coming to the area, disgrace! I wished I knew more about this before moving in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Checked Facebook groups about the scams this company is doing!!!

What is the best feature of your home:

I can not say there is anything I enjoy about my house as my garden is disgrace and the interior of my house has hundered of faults..

No building management- breaking planning rules each day. 7 days a week starting at 07.30. Ruining local residents lives. When you go on site there is no manager there. Only workmen who say we do as we are told. Despite being assured that : 1/ ashberry were dealing 2/ sales team said head office dealing 3/ council trying to contact ashberry - no action taken. Time to go to the papers!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Ashberry have a total disregard for local residents. They break planning rules and never get back to you. Cannot find a site manager every time we go on site. Even the council cannot get hold of them. They just don’t care.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have sold and left if I had know. This company have such a disregard for the community.

What is the best feature of your home:

Don’t go anywhere near an Ashberry development. There is never a site manager available so who is supervising the build quality.

Worth buying a family house here

This development offers good design and choice of modern houses with most of the facilities. The houses built are generally good quality with excellent insulation and access to fast internet. However, few areas lack footpaths, house gardens are relatively small and patchy management of the development offered through third party with relatively high yearly service charges to the owners even though houses are freehold, have been few letdowns. Overall, we have had positive experience buying our house here.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This area is easily accessible with train station (with plenty of parking), local shops, few pubs and town centre within walking distance. Even though it is close to the airport and (narrow) roads can busy during rush hours, the area is generally quiet with reliable bin collection and easy access to green open areas, Southend beach, sea life aquarium, Adventure island and theatres.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Yearly service charge for this development and no windows in bathrooms

What is the best feature of your home:

Cosy well built house with access to sunlight most of the day

We cannot fault the site managers

    Chris Murphy (Owner)

We cannot fault the site managers. As with all new builds there were snagging issues but these have been dealt with promptly and with minimum disruption. The managers (sales and site) and contractors still working on site have been courteous and more than helpful. Parts of the site are very open and spacious and some seem a little claustrophobic, a little more space between houses would have been good in these areas. The attenuation areas along with their ducks are nice features and when finished will add a more natural feel to the development. In terms of the interior designs, some houses seem spacious but more thought needs to be given to furniture layout and storage is very poor with doors opening onto doors making access difficult and large amounts of useful wall space taken up by windows and radiators. The top floor bedroom of the 3 story house is fantastic. On the whole we are pleased with our new house and the location of the site is lovely.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location of the site is very good with easy access by road to nearby villages of Tutbury and Hilton and Burton on Trent and Derby (about 20 mins away). The area is served by 3 supermarkets in the villages with a larger range of shops around 4-5 miles away. There is a good road network to access local towns, the M1 and East Midlands airport. There are plenty of open spaces around the development and the Peak District National Park is not far. Hatton has a train station and a good bus service and the area caters well for everyday needs. There are several JI schools in the area and the development is within a 5 minute drive to doctors, dentist, optician and chemists. There are free car parking facilities in the village and an excellent rubbish collection service, operatives are friendly, prompt and tidy.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Because of Covid we could not view the site or the property beforehand and it wasn't until we moved in that we realised our furniture was not going to fit (even though we move from a 3 bed to a 4 bed house). With hindsight we wonder whether we should have chosen a house with a larger footprint and more space downstairs.

What is the best feature of your home:

The top floor bedroom sold the house and has provided useful and much needed storage space.
