Moderation of reviews

Prior to publication on HomeViews, we may (either by human or technical means) pre-moderate reviews to ensure that they comply with the terms of this policy. If your review does not comply with the terms of this policy, then we will not publish it, and will ask you to make changes to your review. If you refuse, then your review will not be published on HomeViews.

Please note that we are under no obligation to oversee, monitor or moderate any reviews or other interactive services we provide on HomeViews, and we expressly exclude our liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of any review functionality or other interactive service by you in contravention of the terms of this policy, whether the review or interactive service is moderated or not.

Where we do moderate reviews or an interactive service on HomeViews, we will normally provide you with a means of contacting the moderator, should a concern or difficulty arise.

1. Ensure your review is honest, useful & clear.

HomeViews is designed to give prospective residents the confidence to rent or buy in a residential development based upon real residents’ honest reviews. This can only happen if your review is written legibly so people can understand it – please do not include links to websites, foul language or slang. Our community wants to hear about your experience of your development. Please include sufficient detail, based upon your own experience of the development, to ensure that your review is insightful & informative to readers. Our required 250-character count is there to ensure sufficient content is generated in each review. We do not permit reviews from anyone associated with or who works for the relevant development; developers are welcome to engage with HomeViews, giving them the opportunity to respond directly to reviews.

2. Write a review that is not offensive or unlawful.

HomeViews is an open platform and we will not tolerate:

  1. foul language;
  2. sexually explicit comments;
  3. hate language;
  4. insults;
  5. threats; or
  6. bullying, intimidating or defamatory language, of any nature, or any content that in any way:
  7. breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation; or
  8. infringes any copyright, database right or trade mark of any other person.

Any reviews containing any such language, or anything deemed unsuitable, illegal or offensive, will be removed as soon as possible after we become aware of it. We do not permit any reviews that include or promote prejudice against anyone based on their race, gender, religion, sexuality or nationality. HomeViews reserves the right to remove any reviews when we consider that a breach of this policy has occurred. If you have any questions relating to any reviews, please contact info@homeviews.com.

3. Do not copy other people’s reviews or marketing information.

Please write an insightful, honest review of your experience; but please ensure it is your experience and your review! Please do not quote other reviews at length or quote content from marketing or sales spiel. Any reviews that advertise or promote other developments or businesses will be removed as soon as possible after we become aware of it, as will reviews including plagiarised content from other websites, reviews, or publications.

4. Respect people’s privacy.

HomeViews is a business built upon honest and trusted reviews and as such people’s privacy is of paramount importance to us. Please do not include access codes, passwords, contact information or any other exclusive information about the development in your review. Any reviews containing any financial information of the reviewer or anyone else will also be removed as soon as we become aware of it.

HomeViews reserves the right to remove a review or developer response at any time, when we consider that a breach of this policy has occurred. The reviews posted on HomeViews are individual and highly subjective opinions. The opinions expressed in reviews are those of HomeViews members and not of HomeViews. We do not endorse any of the opinions expressed by reviewers or in developer responses. We are not affiliated with any establishment listed or reviewed on HomeViews. Except as required by applicable data protection laws and in accordance with our Privacy Policy, HomeViews does not release anyone’s personal contact information.
