We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

Barley Brae is located in North Berwick, close to the coast but only an hour's drive from Edinburgh. Each home offers flexible open-plan living and entertaining areas, along with contemporary kitchens featuring stone worktops and integral appliances. North Berwick is ideal for those wishing to commute to neighbouring towns and cities via the A198.

We like the design of our house which is a Laurel. On looking around other developments in North Berwick before purchasing we found it an easy decision to choose Dandara. We have found the after sales service regarding snagging to be very good, if sometimes slow. Our only issue is with the landscaping. At the rear of our property is a walkway which is supposed to be a wildflower meadow but which is now only a field of clover, and most of the trees which were planted in this area have died, probably due to lack of water. There was supposed to be a hedge planted at the rear of our fence but only a few sticks remain.

The Dandara development is much smaller than the other new build developments. I believe this is a large pro in choosing this over the CALA/Walker/Miller developments. While the other developments allow you to be closer to the town/train station, the Dandara development is a mere 10 minutes walk to East Beach. Thought has been put into the design to ensure that houses are not crowded. There is a small park for children on the main green which is minimalist but somewhat sufficient. The building/property management has so far left something to be desired however there is a debate as to whether the problems lie with Dandara or whether the property management company hasn't been sufficiently active.

Great site design, but poor build finishing - had many issues externally and internally with our home. Not yet resolved. Customer care after move in very poor. Site appears to be badly managed overall resulting in endless problems for all the residents.

The sunroom does not get sun, but is a lovely open space with double door access to Patio and garden. Minor snagging was seen to by the management team very efficiently. There are problems in other parts of the estate with bad landscaping and steep gradients.
