The Ability Group reviews

“The colourful facade of the Ability Place development can be found overlooking the waters of Millwall Inner Dock in dynamic Canary Wharf. Residents have a use of a private gym, health spa with sauna and solarium, a bar/lounge and secure underground parking (at the cost of £165 a month). There’s also a 24-hour concierge on hand to assist with any tasks like receiving deliveries and making dinner reservations. Clean, tidy and pet friendly!

There’s a 24 hour concierge. Fitness classes and the spa. There is a Tesco nearby and transport links make living here easier. Problems are sorted quickly, and when you order food or parcels, they are taken by the concierge. You need to ask for pets but I’ve seen a fair few around. The corridors are kept clean and tidy too!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Sometimes noisy at night, especially at the weekend but as long as the window is shut it’s hard to hear much.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that the buildings around were being built because since then, I don’t have much of a view.

Very good location and amenities are great

Very nice and quiet place just next to the DLR and wonderful water views. The 24/7 concierge has been a life saver countless times and they are always very friendly and helpful.
The gym and spa onsite is also a nice touch.
Howerver I did notice some anti social behaviour around no floors 8-10!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Sometimes n Saturday night yo can hear some shouting outside, and I see some drugs getting passed around just round he the corner

Fabulous family friendly/pet friendly building

The building has changed a lot in the 11 years I have lived there. It used to be all young professionals and now it’s much more family oriented. Everyone is super friendly.

The concierge team is superb, friendly and efficient. The gym is excellent and the staff there are very professional too. The spa area is also lovely. We have plenty of parking under the building and great bike parking too. The management company of fine… not perfect but really can’t complain.

I bought our apartment as it has a massive outdoor terrace (100sqm+) and to have that size of private space up on the 17th floor and south facing with fantastic views is very rare indeed.

The only thing we hope to see is development of better secondary education in the area. But we have many years before we need to worry too much about that.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Bought my apartment in Ability Place back in 2010 straight from the developer. The area was nice but has improved so much more in the last 5 years especially. Transport is fabulous and there are so many excellent shops/bars and restaurants within a 15 mins walk.

We have a toddler and a dog and so many places are child and dog friendly. There is also a fabulous nursery right next door and a great private school too.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Choose an apartment on the water front wing like I did. Also no cladding problems with this building which is great news!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not really had many issues in last 11 years and any I did have were sorted pretty quickly

Overall very nice

I have lived here for 2 years. The conceirge is friendly and helpful. The flats are a really nice size however it is a strange layout. The gym is part of the agreement and has a spa. The river is also a bonus. Really good transport links, the jubilee line and dlr and the buses. Neighbours are all quiet and nice and friendly. Always having chats in the lift. Very rarely is it noisy.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

At night there is a lot of activity, lots of cars driving around. But it’s generally quite safe.
