Good little pocket

A lovely development by OneHousing, well maintained with an excellent and friendly concierge. He is available during working hours to accept deliveries and help with general site queries. Situated on the border to Brackenbury Village with a mixed community, easy access to Shepherd’s Bush, Goldhawk Road, Hammersmith and all their amenities.

Only issue is the front gate, which constantly proves difficult for delivery companies to figure out. Often have missed deliveries from lazy couriers who can’t be bothered to figure out how the intercom works.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Fantastic access to bars, restaurants and all that Shepherd’s Bush and Hammersmith have to offer. Despite just being off Goldhawk Road, it’s very quiet which is nice, and secured behind a gate helpfully as it borders an area where odd people tend to stray. CCTV is also abundant throughout.

A very mixed community, which is a good thing. Night walkers should remain vigilant.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How the intercom system works…

Also, fibre broadband is not yet available in this development, so you’ll need to use BT or one of its subsidiaries.

Don’t live here.

But overall the block of Saxon Court itself has been year on year a disappointment down to non existent management. The only time I heard from them was recently offering my family with disabilities support but this was cruelly withdrawn with no explanation after a very humiliating and confusing conversation whereby I was asked how grateful I was going to be. My side of the block houses majority of families with disabilities. Yet we were given no choice or compensation for the unprecedented dust, noise, lack of privacy from surrounding monolithic building developments. Since moving in the area has become overdeveloped with no thoughts to the mental and medical health impact on inhabitants. I feel our vulnerability has been taken advantage of. If you complain then the landlords respond by withdrawing all communications even when the building is in a state of extreme dilapidation from building faults left by Coriolian the original constructors. I’ve known people here developed health conditions but there was no investigation or visible attempts to meaningful help or manage families or the property. It’s shocking that in this day and age so little regard is given to human rights. Less shocking that under a Conservative and corporate government – money comes before everything and anyone else. Humans were not supposed to exist under these conditions. But it’s hard to be heard when your own landlord won’t even fix my child’s bedroom window . To top it all there is a night club that means anti social behaviour and load crowds up and down York Way in the night but if you try to complain you are silenced. I’m guessing the trade brings money into the area in whatever way it chooses.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There are perks of central location and cleanliness. But there is no green space accept where dogs walk which has made it hazardous for children. The spaces are occasionally used privately. The shops are far in excess of normal household budget. The buildings we suffer being made are mostly off limits to residents. Deep mind wouldn’t even do an out reach with the Primary School across the road from them.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there was going to be construction works on anything like this level and that the landlord housing officers and building management officers would evaporate.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

By ignoring. They will promise help but then fail to fulfil. They will phone and if you don’t answer you are then written off. Mostly once you have complained they axe you completely. They take your money and you are no longer a human being to them.

I wish I could move the building to another road

The development is not very good, it is not well maintained. If something breaks it takes al long time to get fixed.
the layout of the building and flat however are really well done. I wish i could just move the building somewhere off this horrible road to a better place.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I dislike that there is no community, everyone keeps to themselves.
The main road it sits on is very loud and horrible
The canals near by are lovely to walk by and theres a bird sanctuary near the water tower which i like to visit

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish i had known about the road before i moved in.

Practical and decent place

The development’s design is very basic. We are thankful though that it offers a lift despite being only 3 floors high. The allocated parking space – 1 per unit is also excellent, as we do not have to look for parking outside. There is basically no facilities other than the lift and parking. There is a little garden at the back which is too small for any activity.. except just to take a 1 minute stroll. No gym.
The building management has not been very responsive. The building manager has not been seen at all, other than her picture being on the notice board saying that she is the building manager. The grass was not cut for several months and it grew to about knee length – they said it is covid-related at the gardener lost some of the workers and could not complete the job. The building’s fixtures in the units are decent however there are some funny things such as a doorbell – but no mailman can come up the lift without a fob. There is a dishwasher switch in the kitchen but no dishwasher. The units would have been better with more storage space.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is a decent neighbourhood. About 15 mins walk to the nearest shop, which is very convenient. Noise level is quite low to average except when the houses nearby are undergoing renovation works. A bad point would be some neighbours (the houses nearby) who like to burn their garden waste. The open burning causes the smoke to suffocate this whole area. In summer when it is essential to leave the windows open for air, the smoke gets into my unit.
The street where this new build is built on is a narrow street with terrace houses, hence many cars on both sides of the road, leaving the lane very small. Have not had any problems with parking, bin collections timely and not much traffic noise. A decent and quiet neighbourhood.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Footsteps from the top unit can be heard although they’re just walking normally.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

More storage space in the storage room/cabinet and a dishwasher should be installed. The doorbell system should have 2 options, so that we can let the courier guys up, to our unit. Now we have to go down each time.
