Oakmayne reviews

I am overall very pleased with the quality and standard of the building. The floor plan is excellent and it’s well thought of. The views are amazing. The kitchen and bathrooms are fitted to a very high standard. The flooring is too! I enjoy the winter garden and the large windows allow lots of light and opens the terrific views of the city. It’s a warm home and well insulated.” – Kim Williams, verified resident at Two Fifty One

I enjoy the winter garden and the large windows allow lots of light and opens the terrific views of the city. It’s a warm home and well insulated.
My only draw back is that you can hear the neighbors very clearly especially with the patio doors open into the winter garden.
I enjoy living there overall.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like the convenience of the tube nearby and a shopping centre. Within a short walk to the Thames and other main links.
Elephant and castle looks rather tired in places and is need of refreshing. With the new shopping centre to be built next year will make a big difference

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Elephant and Castle is not the nicest place for sight seeing. I enjoy walking up to Borough and London Bridge more. Mercato Metropolitana is excellent and I visit there regular.

Great place to live!

We’ve lived here since April and couldn’t be happier. Location is amazing, with plenty of bars, restaurants and things to do within walking distance. The development itself is modern, stylish and we’ll built. We have 24hr concierge (who are, on the whole, brilliant), gym, steam room, cinema room and ‘party room’ for entertaining which comes with fully fitted out kitchen. The only gripe we have is that windows haven’t been cleaned in over 4 months, however this is in the works apparently. Other residents have had issues with ‘creaking walls’ but this is also being sorted.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Locally there’s a huge Tesco (which is part of the Elephant & Castle shopping center due to be demolished soon), plenty of bars and restaurants- Wetherspoons is across the road which is cheap and cheerful, but you’ve also got the Elephant & Castle pub which is slightly more expensive but so much nicer. Mercato Metropolitano is a particular highlight- 2 minutes walk away it’s a warehouse filled with street food vendors and you can go back again and again without having the same thing twice!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We were concerned about the Ministry of Sound noise levels however this hasn’t been an issue at all, and they keep local residents informed of any outdoor events they’re holding.

Moving in soon

My boyfriends and I move in this weekend! I was so excited going for a final site visit last week to do final measuring up ahead of our move and deciding where we are going to put things. The flat looks beautiful and they are just doing final finishing touches. We have bought under the shared ownership scheme and found the whole process really easy and supported.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We haven’t been so badly affected but know a few people who have had their completion date pushed back again and again and often at short notice.

Excellent design

In love with the view with london eyes and the shard. The concierge staff are very nice and responsible. Interior design and appliances are excellent. Gym has all the equipment needed. However, noise at night is terrible with the club, mercato and trains.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Lots of supermarkets and restaurants with convenient transport to everywhere

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Train and club are so loud. The sale agent said I won’t be affected on 22 floor. However I am still affected by it. I could not open the windows at night.
