London City Island is a large new development from Ballymore comprised of a cluset of high rise buildings comprised of flats ranging from studios to 4 bedrooms. The development is unique in that is located on an island and thus relatively isolated from the area. The development is mix used and is centred on a new central square, called Trinity Square and will have commercial spaces and the English National Ballet. London City Island also includes many other amenities for the residents, such as a gym, heated pool, waterside parks, arts club and 24 hour concierge and security. Since the area itself is very limited to cars, there is little parking and would be subject to negotiation and certain fees. The standard finishings of the units are of high quality and include inbuilt closets, oak floors, carpets in bedrooms, and open floorplans. Some units also have balconies.
In terms of location, London City Island is located on the Jubilee underground line (Canning Town Stations, which is included as a stop in the night tube) and the DLR, allowing quick access to central London, the City, Canary Wharf, London City Airport, Greenwich, and Stratford. In the future, the Crossrail (Elizabeth Line) will be close to London City Island, making access to Central London and Heathrow even easier. The development is well equipped to be its own neighbourhood, with its own restaurants, stores, and grocery store. Despite its close proximity proximity to Canning Town Station, the area is quiet and there is little noise heard from the flats. Due to the large number of units (there are 6 different large buildings), the amenities are bound to become crowded. However, it will also allow for the possibility that the area will thrive.
