Friendly but too many drug dealers use the road for their deals

It is all good in the main parthing but wish there were noreally police presence to stop the drug dealers and users. Neighbours are fine friendly and look out for each other. Close to all amenities and public transport.

With Crossrail coming soon, the canal-side apartments at Waterside Park are set to become even more popular

Waterside Park is a collection of apartments in West Drayton, in the London borough of Hillingdon. The development sits between the banks of the Grand Union Canal on one side and the Fray’s River on the other, surrounded by 23 acres of protected green space that’s speckled with lakes.

The apartments themselves are available both on a residential basis and as holiday lets and serviced apartments. They’re well-proportioned spaces with open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas that lead out through patio doors onto larger-than-average balconies. Properties on the canal side look straight across the water. The buildings have secure entry systems and lifts, and there’s parking available.

In terms of local amenities, there are several supermarkets in the London suburb of Yiewsley on the other side of the canal, via the bridge on Trout Road. This leads down to the High Street where there are also pubs and neighbourhood shops. Keep walking past Yiewsley Recreation Ground and the High Street curves back round across the canal until you eventually reach West Drayton Station.

You can also walk to the train station direct from Waterside Park in about ten minutes. The station is served by Great Western Railway trains, and residents can reach Paddington station in 20 minutes, or Reading in 40. Several London bus routes also serve the station, so residents have good access to other areas of London.

Perhaps most importantly, though, West Drayton Station is undergoing significant redevelopment works in preparation for the arrival of Crossrail services, so Waterside Park residents will soon have far more transport options. When the full route opens, up to six Elizabeth Line services an hour will call at West Drayton station, so residents can travel through central London without the need to change trains.

Beautiful aesthetically, poor geographically

Verified Resident

I fee that the development I live in is beautiful to look at with a large park, swan lake and a canal running along side it. Whilst it is aesthetically pleasing, the geographical are poor. We live on a street where ASBOs are right next to working class. So a lot of crime and drug abuse on the road, in front of your house. It’s unpleasant in that way.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is perfect, it’s suburban, verging on urban. Plenty of shops and a couple of independent restaurants. Lots of chicken shops (but I like that). If you want something a bit nicer you can always go to Uxbridge which is just a five minute drive down the road with great shopping centres and all the top brands.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’m an explorer so I found everything very quickly. My mum didn’t know that there is a park with swings on the Estate so I guess people should be aware of that!
