We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

The Foundry is a new-build residential development featuring 121 apartments on Monier Road in Fish Island, Hackney Wick, developed by Weston Homes Plc. The property’s one, two and three-bed apartments are less than a 20-minute walk from Hackney Wick train station, while Stratford station is walkable in around 25 minutes. Crossrail will improve transport links in the area when it launches.

Weston Homes have build this property really quickly however given no consideration to the workmanship, customer service and general care. All lot of issues which Weston is now ignoring, very surprised that there are some 5* reviews as everyone in the Foundary has nothing but complaints about them. The only good thing is the location, I would advise you to be really careful if you ever decide to purchase from Weston, their contractors are highly unskilled, walls are cracked, skirting boards poorly fitted - they don't even meet at the corners, mirrors fitted incorrectly, paint missed from obvious spots, paint uneven, cheap paint which washes off, uneven flooring - the list goes on. Poor security, poor property management, they hate employees who go above and beyond because it shows them up. General disdain for them and reading reviews about them it's clear it isn't one building but the company as a whole that just doesn't care

Been living here for over a year and still love it! We have a gorgeous private terrace, lots of space, modern interiors and friendly neighbours. I like the look and feel of apartment, it is well-insulated (good in winter, but less good in summer) and the kitchen came with most things we needed. The apartment itself is contemporary and I've generally found it low-maintenance. There's lots of light and I like the finishes of the bathrooms. We've had several snagging issues, but nothing I would describe as terrible. Many of the other developments in the area didn't have parking, or had limited options that were very expensive. So having access to parking was a huge plus for us given that the options in the area seemed very limited. The management company does need chasing and we have terrible mailboxes that should definitely be changed. But, on the whole, I love the flat and enjoy living here.

What I love about the area is how funky and wild the vibe is; the environment has a very unique feel to it which I think is really cool. There are really good transport connections with very frequent trains coming and many options for residents. The only thing I dislike is the lack of amenities around the area.

The layout is ok for my development as it is well confined but spacious in terms of being able to move around freely, which is great as it adds to the standard way that residents should be living in. However, what is really disappointing is the fact that the design of my development is very basic in terms of not having any sense of flare or quirkiness to it, which I believe would contribute in an essential quality in terms of my development's aesthetics and sustainability within the walls of Hackney and Stratford.

The area is safe, lived here since December. At first there was a lot of noise from construction, especially at night, but you get used to it. Good access to stations, only a 5 min walk and the bus is a 4 min walk, which is also a night bus. There's some corner shops near by, but hone fully a bigger shop gets built.
