We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

This Notting Hill Genesis development is popular with YouTube stars, even being nicknamed ‘The Sidemen Tower’ after members of online sensation, The Sidemen, moved in. Stratford Halo is in a privileged setting near Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Westfield Stratford City, and Stratford International and Stratford Station. It’s 42 storeys high, making it one of London’s tallest buildings.

The building is in a great location with very easy access to the main Stratford station and the minor DLR stations surrounding it. The building has good facilities and the concierge is useful from a delivery perspective as well as being friendly and helpful. The flats are nice with great views and large windows, although they can get very warm in the summer!

Lived there for 5 years. If it wasn’t for the flat itself which was very nice, my friend in it, and the pet-policy Katy changed for us (after the reception tried to bully me about the pet-policy and sent me an email demanding that my pet be re-homed or to move out, and eventually after the Property Manager Katy concluded that our flat was immaculate and we could stay and keep our cat) I would’ve left way earlier. It felt like a constant battle. It was extenuating. The building entrance doors have constantly broke down for YEARS as well as the lifts (one of them had been out of order for almost a year by the time we left) and excuses just evolve as the news (“Brexit” being the most used whilst the lift broke down before we left the EU and even then, Germany isn’t that far …). They also changed where we were to dump our bins and despite living in the main tower we were forced to go to the parking area rather than dispose our bins on our way out. Super inconvenient and they made sure whoever wouldn’t comply would be shamed and scolded. A neighbour literally took a dump ? on our floor, in the hallway (!), after he had an argument with his partner. Although our property manager said he took it very seriously, the carpet was never changed (!) and the brown stain remained which isn’t acceptable in a so-called “high-end building”. The staff is, for the majority, plain incompetent and rude. The reception is certainly not 24hrs as they keep (falsely) advertising as many times after 11pm they were away from the desk (or asleep). They’re so busy checking their phones or sleeping on the job that they just hardly ever say hello which should be the norm and their job to greet everyone coming in and out. One day a bin caught fire and I’m the one who alerted (woke up!) the night shifter. Yes, he was taking a nap! (Reassuring, post Grenfell …) The lifts were dirty and litter was left in them most of the time, smelled like weed very often and the management’s response was inadequate at best “we don’t have cleaners on weekends”, “we can’t monitor CCTVs to check who littered them” (hire cleaners or clean it yourself … and watch the CCTVs instead catching zzz’s !?). I was shocked that facilities were just non-existent especially considering their ads not shying away from portraying it as a high-end building of exception. The gym is pathetic. There’s no pool/jacuzzi. No spa. No sauna. Nothing that makes it a “high-end building” really. They eventually created two game rooms which were pathetic to look at. The only nice thing is the lobby, unfortunately residents don’t understand that they’re supposed to leave their trash in the bins and the staff won’t clean the area if it’s dirty until a proper cleaner comes around (I didn’t know it took an actual professional just to sweep the floor). One of the staff members is a total dictator and a control-freak! He’s super rude and basically chooses who he’ll be professional with (people he likes …); he acts as if he owns the building and isn’t being paid through us, his customers! I heard he thinks customer service is one of his best assets … sure, if bullying, arrogance and attitude were what customer service was about! Regrettably for him, I saw several newer employees being promoted in 5 years though he never was so his superiors must know he isn’t all that. The flats are nice but we couldn’t leave two windows opened at the same time otherwise the wind would slam all the doors and literally blow everything out in the flat. The fridge/freezer are super small. I’ll never understand how new-builds in London offer the same fridge for a studio and a 2 or 3 bedroom … Hot water was a constant issue and took ages to heat up (over 10mn, every single day). I was told it was because I was on a higher floor (14th!) and “it takes time for hot water to get up there” … I’m sorry, what!?!? Meanwhile, you can’t turn the bathroom tap to get hot water in the sink. I was told this was for security purposes. Hmm so I can burn my hands in the kitchen but not in the bathrooms? Ok, good to know! Make it make sense … There is no AC, meaning these flats get very VERY hot in the summer. I’ll never take a flat without AC again honestly, don’t listen to anyone who says “you don’t need AC in London, it’s not that hot”. Buildings are built to retain heat here so you will love having that AC when it goes above 25 degrees. Overall, this building has so much potential but between a poor management, lazy/unprofessional employees and non-existent facilities the only thing it has for itself is the design of the tower and the lobby.

The building it's good, you have all you need, from parking lots, common areas bike storage and gym. A pretty simple building, not too modern but still does the job. The building it's pretty quiet and you can enjoy your time off. Very happy to live in here,

The building is tall, made of glass and has a beautiful illuminating strip on the side at night that changes colour- it makes you proud to live here. The inside of the property including the foyer and flats are all modern and clean. There is a 24hr concierge service, a gym, a TV/pool table room and a "relaxation" room with books and yoga equipment. The management are easy to contact via the concierge or a number of emails and have always been helpful when needed. The most impressive part of this property is the beautiful view of London that it has- we face central London and can easily see the Shard/Walk Talkie/Gherkin etc as well as the O2 arena and the Olympic stadium. It is such a priviledge to have this view and especially seeing spectacular sunsets every day.

The facilities are excellent, the gym has enough machines in for personal use and is usually empty enough to do your own thing. There have been recent improvements with the addition of a games room, which has a great selection of things. The design is good, although with the changing of the cladding in the court adjacent to the property, it doesn't look its best at present. The management are friendly and helpful from the interactions I have had with them.
