We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

St Clements is a development by Linden Homes Eastern, and comprises of one and two-bedroom apartments. Excellent public transport links come courtesy of Mile End Underground station, which is just under a five-minute walk away, and the development is a short stroll from Victoria Park

Aesthetically the development looks great. It used to be a Victorian hospital and Linden have made good design choices with bricks and other external features. However the building is let down by bad acoustics. I can hear footfall from upstairs everyday, which is extremely annoying. Also the SVP pipes run though bedrooms. So you can hear ‘things’ hurtling down the pipes which are not properly acoustically shielded.

When one comes into the development it looks beautiful. It's quiet, lovely neighbours, nice looking buildings. Living in the building is also enjoyable, however one notices quite a few designs that were not thought through. Some buildings have aluminium window frames, which are environmentally terrible as they do not conserve heat, and also create massive condensation that may cause severe damage to the brickwork. Quite a few flats have leaks because of poor roof constructions. The developer, Linden Homes, has promised referral fees that they later refused to pay despite written and verbal proof. First Port management is trying to offer good service but so far has not been very accomplished. No street signs is another cause for concern, not only for missing deliveries but also should one need emergency ambulances or fire brigades. Saying all this, you may encounter very similar issues with many new developments.

Fantastic development; clean, empty etc. Double glazed windows and thick walls. I've never heard my neighbors. Property managers are contactable however I've never been in need. All in all I'm very happy living here and have been for the past three years.

The houses are well designed however there are some awkward corners in some of them to make room for piping I believe. The fences that were recently put in around the houses I find ugly and they also take away from the community aspect of this development.

I think the design (once it will be completed) is lovely and it looks very grand. I love how they have restored the old buildings and this is what attracted me to the development. The site is still on going, but it changes week to week. The plants planted in some areas have been planted incorrectly and have died very quickly. There are a lot of bins onsite but at the front people have been fly tipping as there is a large area which is easy to fly tip, which makes the development look scruffy even before you are entered. The locked gardens are lovely and add character to the site. The road around the site is still very uneven for cars to drive down, but it is still a working process. I can't wait for it to be finished.
