We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

The flats are quite nice as is the location but be warned you will pay £250 or more in the winter for heating and electric. The company that does the heating and energy is called Communal Energy Partners (give them a google and you'll see how bad they are). As a result my partner and I never turned on the heat in December, and took cold showers. We were still hit with a bill of £190 for that month. Also some people rent these apartments out as airbnbs. This has resulted in parties and people jumping down on our balcony, breaking furniture at night. One night the police were even called into the building as it got so out of control. All the packages were stolen as well. Overall the apartments are good but be ready to spend an extra 2k a year on heating and hot water if you live here.

Have been living in Potato wharf development for nearly a year now. Have had nothing but problems with multiple leaks, mould growing on the walls due to said leaks, building manager/landlord making me feel like I’m going crazy asking for a plumber to come round AGAIN for ANOTHER leak. Also, there’s loads of little moths that get into the flats, they’ve caused damage to my carpet. Have also seen other reviews having problems with “carpet moths”. There’s no air con for the flats so the heat is unbearable through the summer. Cosy in the winter though. Outside parking under the bridge is handy but car constantly covered in bird poo. Bins are on ground floor, feel sorry for anyone who lives on a ground floor flats near the bins because the smell makes its way up into the communal hallways. Depending on what side of the building you are on, you’ll hear the trains/trams throughout the day and night. Flats are built to a decent standard. Definitely a building wide issue with plumbing though as everyone I’ve spoke to has had leaks/damp issues. There’s a lift which is handy but has broken down a handful of times this past few months. Glad I rented first because I definitely do not want to buy here.

Good location and good properties. Few issues with build quality like windows leaking and condensation in winter due to windows being metal. Have to pay extra for parking usually £100+pm. All in all they seemed to be good value for money given the location, flats are modern enough.

Lovely block.. always tidy communal areas . Lovely to have a balcony overlooking the canals. Looks nice from the outside and feel safe with a heavy front door and jeycard entry. In a fantastic spot. Expensive but worth it if you can afford it. Car parking and safe bike space

My building (39) suffers from damp issues, and I often find myself having to scrub mould off the walls, which starts around Jan/Feb until April each year. This is a building wide issue and I've seen the same mould in neighbours flats. There is also an issue with carpet moths, replacing our carpet to a synthetic one helped, but the moths are still very much an issue around the building. The ventilation system regularly gets clogged and doesn't really do its job, and the flat is always warm, which is lovely in winter but horrible in summer, especially when combined with previously mentioned noisy neighbours. Despite all this, I'm happy here. I love my home. The building manager and staff are wonderful and get to know the residents personally. You can always go to them for help and support, which I've never had before in a building like this.
