Small but nice

Verified Resident

Good overall, great facilities select and save and laundrette and pharmacy near by. Would be good if they have a laundry service in the building. The put up barriers to the entrance so cars can not drive down, this us very inconvenient for deliveries and guests.

Why did you choose this development?

Practical location to central London using public transport connections.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Quiet. But no shelter at door. Clean and well taken care of

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Good walk to o2 and frequent guests. Very quiet and nice area.

Millennium village

Verified Resident

It used to e better but there are too many people. It is nice o live on the river side, the buildings are clean and I like the cycling route although I’d like them to improve it to link to cutty sark. It is very quiet here but is busy near the O2.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Parking is terrible and it is busy, not enough parking and it’s expensive to roadside park.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’m happy to live here.

Middling London new build

Verified Resident

Clean and comfortable and safe for kids. However, our service charge goes up dramatically enough every year that it will probably prove to be a money pit in the end. You’ll also not have your own water heater and will be trapped paying £30 a month plus actual usage to Loka. Three years in, we’re only just starting to be billed accurately. If not for their mandatory 10 year contract with new owners, they would not be able to sustain a customer base.

Please tell us what you like and/or dislike about this location:
Easy access to the rest of London via the Jubilee line, but the actual local shops are out of town style sheds that are incredibly unpleasant to access as a pedestrian. More often, I get the tube one stop to Canary Wharf to run errands.

Please share one thing (or more) that you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I’d realised it was a bad idea to be locked into a contract with an energy company that isn’t beholden to OFGEM rules. Also just how unpleasant the walk to the shops would be–we were rushed into placing a deposit due to the London property market.

So much to do

Verified Resident

There are so many things to do already on the peninsula and I am excited about everything else that is to come. I was bought up in Greenwich and then rented for a few years in the Millennium Village before moving up the peninsula closer to the North Greenwich tube. I love it here and wouldn’t live anywhere else – I am hoping to get some space in the new design village for my studio.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in: Sign up to the peninsula newsletter as great stories about what is happening on the peninsula and what is coming up.

A new city

Apparently by 2032 more than 10,000 new homes will be built in seven neighbourhoods with new schools, shops, offices, a film studio and health services. At the moment there are apparently 1000 (or 2000 I keep reading different numbers) completed on the peninsula. From North Greenwich Tube it is already possible to reach Canary Wharf in two minutes, London Bridge in less than 10, and Waterloo in about 11 minutes. We came to view the peninsula as we are considering an investment here, we weren’t keen to live on a building site for the next 15 years but the way they are zoning the works means that disruption isn’t too bad. We are looking to invest and are considering a couple of different block before they all get snapped up.

An inclusive opportunity

It is great that Greenwich peninsula is so inclusive with so many affordable rent flats and shared ownership/ help to buy schemes. Whereas other developers and developments seem to be just about the money it seems that they really want to create an inclusive community.

great links

Verified Resident

The jubilee line is through Greenwich + DLR+ river taxi and trains to charing cross so don’t worry about links to central london. My parents (N Londoners!) still ask how we manage not being on the underground. Actually we’re within walking distance of N Greenwich tube, by my criteria, but hardly use it. If you live in SE London you just don’t miss the tube; if you are not from here it seems as though people base house-buying decisions on a tube map rather than an integrated transport map and therefore big parts of SE London simply don’t feature on their radar, so there’s relatively lower demand. That being said with all this development prices are shooting up and now seem just as competitive to the rest of London, luckily for me I bought a while back before things got silly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Great investment

Verified Resident

I was drawn to buying here as it is in Zone 2, and Help to Buy is available – otherwise it wouldnt be possible! The future development plans are exciting, and I think it will be a great investment for us. I am renting in Oval but on the Peninsula it feels like there is more of a community developing. It’s also a great place to go running being so close to the river is amazing and being here you can run right around The O2, it’s so quiet and peaceful so it feels like you could be anywhere in the world and we can’t wait to move here.
