We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

A Bellway Homes development, Elmington Green features a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments alongside three and four-bedroom houses in Camberwell. Nearby to the centre of Camberwell, the development is only a sixteen-minute walk away from Denmark Hill with links to the Overground as well as Thameslink and Southeastern services.

The flat we live in is modern and well design. Spacious rooms that are well insulated, both from a heat and sound perspective, we rarely hear our neighbours. Bike storage and bin stores are good, but entry in to the main outdoor communal area is too easy and has resulted in some theft of bikes over the years. Unfortunately DJC Management and Peabody are as good as useless at rectifying anything, and service charges are contested most years. I love living here, the only downside is the management agency.

Our development is generally very nice and features a large courtyard with parking, a playground, communal seating and cycle storage. The design of the buildings is contemporary but classic and the balconies feel generous. The flats have good ceiling heights and lovely full height openable windows, allowing for passive ventilation. The downside of the development in my opinion is the cycle stores are not secure and therefore we have to keep our bikes inside our flat. The lift has broken down three times since we completed in June 2019. The building management have been fairly slow when responding to these issues. The biggest frustration we have had with the development is our address. The gate we use to access and dial our flat is on a street that is not in our address. The road that is on our address does not provide access to our flat which has led to parcels not being delivered, difficulties with food deliveries and such like. Further to this, the instructions on the gate are confusing and we have had problems even when post etc finds its way to the right place!

It’s a great development in a great location. However, building/property management hasn’t been that great. My partner has had 3 bikes stolen from the development‘s locked bike sheds. Little was done to stop this from happening, even when we explained how easily accessible the sheds are to non residents.

Property management has been brilliant right from the start, helping me choose the right apartment for me. The modern kitchen and bathroom is outstanding and the design makes for a sleek finish. The best facilities for me is the bicycle storage as it’s very secure and easy to access. I cycle to and from work so this is really useful for me. The design is also great, in particular I do appreciate the landscape views of Brunswick park.

This is a secure gated development with a nice community. It isn't too large so you can get to know your neighbours if you so wish! It suits all different kinds of families, couples, young professionals etc. Property management is good, it is easy to contact the relevant parties on the phone or via email. With regards to the design of the properties - great noise proofing possibly helped by the triple glazed windows. Keeps heat in during the winter making them energy efficient but also can stay nice and cool in the summer without the need for a fan.
