very happy

Review Date Mar 2018

City Wharf is a collection of canal-side apartments, located in one of London’s most creative districts close to Shoreditch, Old Street and the surrounding Islington area.

The outside of the buildings have wood and metal cladding and I love the views across London from the balcony where you can see the old and new residential towers changing the landscape.

I love the canal path which gives the area a more distinctive feel and the balconies overhanging the canal have a heavy solid feel like window boxes of flowers.

We have chosen to rent here and I am very happy

Silent serene luxury facility

Verified Resident

Review Date Jun 2019

This property is a luxury serene peaceful block of flats. The community is safe and peaceful. There is a lovely balcony view for the flat, the wine cooler and stone top kitchen design is also very nice. Although the place is quiet and neighbours do not interact as much we do have the occassional party. Our roof top on Merchant Building is the highest and best in terms of view compared to the other two roof tops on the City Wharf compound. The building is smoothly run although at the moment we have a minor problem of our intercom being broken.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This is a silent peceful facility with a lovely interior garden where you caneed come down and experience the outdoor feel while still being indoors. The community is very peaceful and safe. Neighbours do not interact as much because this is a private urban high rise but we do have the occassional party.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The building forces you to use a smart meters based on credit which still charges you even when you go on vacation for example.

Great interior design of flat with lovely luxury design but building management is terrible

Review Date Jul 2019

The design and interior facilities of the house or flat are great and all high class but the building management is terrible and seem to ignore our needs and requirements thinking we will not care as much because we are in shared ownership. Things get broken down all the time and repair is quite slow. But the people living here are nice and get on very well. We even have our own Facebook Group among residents.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It is a great commuter area as far as access to transport, shops and restaurants. However, I wish there was a gym in the outside downstairs place for the building residents to use. Solicitors, shared ownership nice to have a fun

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is not much I was not prepared for or did not know enough about. I think it is good value for money although I have not tried to sell it and don’t know as much.

Good location

Review Date Jul 2019

The place is generally good, I really like structure and interior of the buildings. However, the security isn’t that great as the front gate is normally broken which allows anybody to enter causing mail to get stolen and deliveries not arrive. The lift also tends to be out of service and sometimes gets stuck when you’re in it. The bin service is very good as they get collected regularly every week.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There is no free parking however it is close to train station and there are good regular transport links.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there is no parking as it has discouraged me to drive however the transport links are good so I can’t complain that much.

Great facilities , community and interior design is great just bad landlord service

Verified Resident

Review Date Jul 2019

The building is a lovely design with great facilities, design and decor. The problem is complaints about broken or in disrepair fixtures of the building like lifts, bin storage room, door and parcel room theft are not repaired on time. We wish it could all be resolved quickly but it’s a pain. But overall it is still good value for money and the interior is quality.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I obviously dislike the fact that so many building fixtures and facilities get broken down with no quick repair and the theft of parcels but I love the area of town and feel there are enough shops and restaurants. My one major complaint is I wish there were more 24 hour open shops here for late night convenience purchases or a neater late night corner shop.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I don’t have many regrets. It is good value for money and quality except for the landlord problems.

Security could be better

Verified Resident

Review Date Jun 2019

The security hasn’t been great as the gate tends to break which causes problems with the mail being stolen. The design of the building is wonderful as it pays respect to the traditional values of the Hackney area architecture. The place is really peaceful and quiet with lots of nature surrounding the blocks (for example the canal running through the courtyard).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There is easy access to transport links in the city and also out of the city.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

No not at all.

Its nice and quiet, its a very nice place, the quality of the locks is cheaper then the other ones in the area, the quality is worth it for the price that we pay. Sometimes there is no water the responses are not quick enough we shouldnt have to be paying for water in the first place. Nice shops and restaraunts and the bus stop is good

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Quite a bit of noise fro, the prople that live jere, amd aslo cpnstruction work

Great interior facilities , decor of rooms is lovely but building management and landlord service is terrible

Review Date Jul 2019

I love the interior design, space and decor of the rooms but the building management service is terrible. We always have a problem here that needs to be fixed. The lift has been broken, there has been a massive leak on my floor corridor and made all my roon wet at a certain time. The door has been broken at timesome so we had parcels stolen. The bin storage room is poorly designed with the key needed to exithe rather than open to get in. While the people living here are fine the building services are poor.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is lovely with great transport links and very suitable for my needs. I have no problems lIving in this central neighbourhood of London.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I like the area and it is good value for money. I researched it properly but the main problem is the building management service.

Looks good but not functional

Roof terrace is lovely.

The flat is not well designed/layout is poor with no Sunlight into the flat. Residents in the building do not look after communal areas and the bins are shocking. No parking (unless you have one in the buildings car park). Flat is very hot with poor ventilation.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Location very central.

Comfortable, quiet and near the city

Verified Resident

Some of the residents can be a bit messy and not too friendly at times which sometimes causes the security to be bad, especially with the mail. The buildings are very modern and grand, and I big balcony.
Parking can be an issue as it is all private and is pretty expensive too.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is quiet however also close to central London and the train station.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is no free parking.
