We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

Centenary Quay by Crest Nicholson sits in a new waterside development in Southampton. Centenary Quay offers a range of 1 & 2 bedroom apartments. As well as waterside views, residents benefit from huge selection of amenities on their doorstep. Many of the flats are also available with the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme.

They’ve recently added a park and the noise is bad from kids in the day and youths at night. The builders start work at 7am Monday to Saturday despite complaints made. The secure carparks are broken into weekly with cars damaged and property stolen. Wouldn’t recommend living here.

I'm renting one of those flats and truth be told, there's room for improvement. The plain white walls lack finishing and get stained or scratched so easily that you're afraid of touching anything. But the worst is the soundproofing. I can constantly hear my upstairs neighbours walk across their flat, drop stuff on the floor, close doors and windows, pull chairs, I can hear them sneeze and I can hear them use the toilets as if they were next door! Ah, I can also hear their bell ring as I'm typing this. So yeah, for a brand-new building I would expect much better.

Amazing location, incredible views and great value with close and convenient shops and restaurants a plenty. Only issue is the gang of children in the area who management and the police do nothing about

Good sized flat for the money, nice enough area. There are some lovely local shops and takeaways. Ideally located for town. The building is nice. Nice views from the balcony. Unfortunately, quite a bit of crime around the area, particularly targeted around CQ.

The development is incredibly modern and I’m a big fan of the design and general aesthetic of CQ. My particular flat (2 bed apartment) is lovely and my favourite feature is the balcony which has stunning views overlooking the Solent, My particular block (Juno) has a roof terrace which is a fantastic addition to the block. One thing I would say is that I’ve had a bit of a problem in my bathroom with silverfish insects. I've tried various methods of getting rid of them but nothing seems to work. A few other residents around CQ have also experienced this problem too. Might be something for the management team to assist with?
