I would recommend living here

I love the design of my apartment and the main work space area in Fridman house. The facilities are perfect as the Wi-Fi in the communal work space is really good and it’s great having laundry facilities within my apartment and the balcony is lovely too. The apartments really nice and light as it’s glass all along one side. Perfect size for one person. In terms of building management it did take almost a month to get Wi-Fi in my apartment and I’m still waiting for someone to look at my fridge which has had an issue since I moved in over 5 weeks ago now.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Perfect location for commuting as next to the underground station and lots of local bus routes available. Great being so close to an Asda and a Lidl. Despite being next to the stadium I’ve not had any issues with anti social behaviour or crowding as the big events are well managed with lots of police etc.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is some building work going on next to the building, you can see it from the balcony so shouldn’t have been a surprise but I didn’t really think about the noise. They don’t tend to start work until 7 or 8 am and the windows keep most of the noise out, but you can hear a fair bit of noise if you have your windows or balcony door open when it’s warm.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Unfortunately it took nearly a month to get Wi-Fi in my apartment despite it being highlighted on the inspection before I moved in that the router was missing so I would have liked that to have been installed before I moved in. I also have an issue with my fridge not working properly which was present when I moved in and no one has come to look at it over 5 weeks later.

Looks nice and has ok transport links but building management is poor

Design
The flat designs are fine, nothing too amazing. Furniture is provided at an additional cost per month (or use to be).

Facilities
Can’t say there’s much to talk about in regards to facilities. The wifi is included in the rent which was good but the connectivity is never stable for long and there were months on end were engineers were trying to fix a complete loss of internet. We’re still having issues on a daily basis with our internet to this day.

Building Management
Started off well in the first year (when Absal was the concierge) but has since gone downhill. There’s always different people behind the desk at the reception so its hard to know if any of your issues are / will ever be raised through that person as the next day you return it’s a different person. There’s been constant issues with dog poo around the flats and this has never been sorted, only addressed by the staff. I’ve also raised the need for more recycling disposal bins in the bin area but this has never been taken onboard. We were also not included in a recent residency meeting where it seemed lots of other private renters were included.

Property Management
In regards to managing the property, I’ve had to raise several issues to get them fixed but often just got templated responses about the issues being looked into. The buzzer on the Piedmont building was broken for months so if you wanted to let someone in you had to go down to the first floor and open the door which was a massive pain. There were also months on end when the entrance had no locking system (magnetic lock) so anyone could just wander into the building without knowing the code to get in, this made us feel very unsafe – especially when one of the other buildings was broken into not long before. I’ve also had situations where my emails are just completed ignored. So all in all I’d probably give the review as a 4/10 below average experience.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

No shops or a high street, the closest thing you could call to a high street is a 20 minutes walk – but there are only takeaways and coffe shops, no shopping to be done there. The location is good if you use the train station to get into central though as it’s not near any tube stations, closest is Boston Manor (another 25 minute walk). Bus links are also ok, H91 from over the main and drops off outside flat area on the way home.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The issues with the wifi have been shocking, when everyone was working from home and stressing out whether they would keep there jobs (due to covid) we had days where there was no connection for hours. The response and fix took months in total and we still have issues with the internet on a daily basis to this day.

A decent re-development

The site is located just off the busy West Great Road and if your flat is facing it, there will be noise once you open the windows. When they are closed, the noise isn’t bad, even though traffic can be heard. The walls are not that soundproof, so if you’ll have a bit noisy neighbours living above you, you’ll know it. The property used to be a set of office buildings build a few decades ago, but it was re-developed into flats in 2019, so some of the flats have a bit of strange layout. The front doors are not the best quality and they don’t sit properly in the frame, so we had to have a repairman to fix them. The site doesn’t have any additional amenities, even though we’ve heard that there were plans for some, but they haven’t materialised. The concierge guy is on duty Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM and he would be happy to help out with most of the tenants’ issues. It is pet friendly, which is a plus, but many of the dog owners don’t care about their responsibilities and don’t pick up after their furry friends and the management isn’t doing anything to put an end to it by implementing security cameras and fining the offenders or even installing several bins around the site. Unfortunately, because of the travellers incident back in March the company that owns the parking lot next to the property hired security guards with the dog. They sit in a parked car next to the building and the poor dog is locked in the cage in the car 24/7. Has nothing to do with Vonder, but I believe they should raise this with the company that owns the parking lot.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The buildings are across the GSK building on the Great West Road and there are many amenities around. Subway and Co-op are 5 minutes away, an off-licence, cafe and a barber a few minutes away with a couple of bus stops nearby. The train station is also several minutes away that takes you to Waterloo in 25-35 minutes, depending on the train.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the maintenance will be scarce and below average. By that, I’m not talking about the cleaning personnel, which is doing a good job, but the organising of the outdoor maintenance. Also, all the security cameras outside are non-functioning and half of the light poles are not working, so walking around the buildings in the night is not pleasant.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The price was a bit high, especially for the area (Zone 4). The rent includes the bills (electricity-heating, water, internet), but once you deduct the bills from the rent it is still a bit pricey.

A great location, close to the A4 motorway. 10 minutes into London. We have a huge tesco next door. Brentford high street is 10 minutes walk. There is a medical clinic over the road. We have two over ground train station (syon park and Brentford) a great new stadium for our beloved Brentford fc.The complex has a very large bin erea with collection once a week. Underground parking available but at cost ( I think 70 a month a little to expensive ). Quite no antisocial behaviour. A cafe on site makes a great cup of coffee. Great Management. The apartments them selves are fantastic. Finished to I high spec. Modern layout with top of the range appliances. Water, electric and powerful WiFi included in rent. Communal parts need a little etention. Carpets, walls ect.
