This development is above and beyond all others. The attention to detail in the apartments is fantastic, the facilities are more then you would ever expect and the team can’t do enough for you. I want to live here forever!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area feels so safe. The private security is so reassuring especially when walking my dog late at night. The transport links are fantastic and easily accessible from around the wharf. Lots of shops to choose from and so many big open spaces.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known other residents had been offered a parking space! I would of asked again because it doesn’t seem fair and you can’t expect residents to not talk and for that news to be known!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Really hard…. probably the fact that you have to go down to the ground floor to collect your Deliveroo! Not ideal when you’re really hungover and don’t want to see anyone!

Manager Response

Dear Hannah,

We are so happy to hear that you love your apartment and the location of 8 Water Street as well as the building facilities on offer. At Vertus, customer service is our top priority and we are so grateful for your feedback. If there is anything else we can do to help, please let us know.

Luxury, top notch service, excellent

Excellent and luxurious building. One of the first to move in to this new building – excellent vision for what top quality luxury service looks like. The concierge team is terrific! The support and sales team are great and host excellent events. The lounge is top notch, gym is more than sufficient with new equipment and personal training if needed. So happy about choosing this building.

If you work in Canary Wharf, this is a no brained. True luxury a few minutes from work!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent property, amenities and support. Excellent lounge with free coffee. Events organized by property manager. Concierge is 24 hours and top notch service. Building amenities are awesome.

Would be absolutely terrific once neighborhood is completely done and all retail stores etc open, but this building itself is excellent. No complaints whatsoever!

Furniture package is fresh, mid century modern and appliances are great!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Free coffee, and Bathroom floor heating in all apartments (lovely lux touch)

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

New neighborhood and a new Royal Mail can’t find building, so deliveries and Uber pick up has been a bit challenging, but this is expected in a new neighborhood. Nothing the building can control.

Very Happy Tenants

10 George Street is in the newer residential district of Canary Wharf, Wood Wharf. Having never ventured across the bridge prior to visiting the development, we were extremely pleased to find such a well kept district with plenty of green spaces within such a short distance of the main office complexes.

Despite the ongoing construction, noise nor inconvenience has never been an issue with the landlords ensuring that residents remain undisturbed. As someone who often works overnight and into the morning, this is particularly appreciated as catching up on sleep is never a problem.

The facilities within the building and the concierge team are exceptional. The latter are always on hand 24/7 and can never do enough to assist regardless of the request or the time submitted. Although we do not make much use of the common spaces, the gym and lounge/bar/terrace/entertaining spaces are wonderful all the same.

Being fully furnished, the properties require minimal effort to move in and this made the development even more appealing. Especially with the high quality of furnishing and fittings used. Additionally, with extremely easy access to cleaners and dry cleaning facilities it was very easy to organise everything we needed to when setting up our rental.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our decision to move in. For us, we replaced expensive hotel stays which often were unable to accommodate our ever changing schedules with a well priced, always available place to base ourselves from when in London. It has absolutely been the best decision for us and we hope to remain tenants for many years ahead.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We are drawn to Canary Wharf for work reasons, being ideally situated in close proximity to the various key Docklands Data Centres.

Although the estate is known for its office skyscrapers and business facilities, it is a diverse and immaculately kept private complex with a vast array of social spaces and activities also.

It truly is a hidden gem and a part of London which we are proud to have discovered many years ago.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parking is an issue and the landlords are dealing with this via the use of traffic wardens from a third party. Although this is a positive as it prevents the abuse of the various temporary stopping spaces, it can now make unloading/loading an issue as the wardens can at times be slightly overzealous when dealing with people who are genuinely loading only.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have had minimal issues however any raised have been dealt with quickly and effectively.

Great place to live

As we moved here during the pandemic we took a bit of a chance as we didn’t see the development in the flesh and all viewings were done via video calls with Vertus. From the outset the staff were great, responsive and helpful (especially Carys!). Moving day was seamless, the reception staff were very helpful ensuring we had cages etc to move our boxes in. We were also able to take advantage of the guest suites for a few nights while we were waiting on all of our belongings to be shipped in. The furnishing and finishing in the apartments (& indeed the whole building) are of a very high spec and standard. The service is of an equally high standard, any issues whatsoever are dealt with quickly and effectively, the Vertus app makes it a very simple process to raise issues. The building is very secure with fob access, secured mail boxes and delivery lockers. A great example of the high level of service: my husband had a small issue this morning while cooking breakfast and all the smoke alarms went off within our apartment and within seconds my mobile was ringing to ensure everything was ok. Very reassuring. We cannot recommend this property highly enough, we love it.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great location for grocery shopping like Waitrose, M&S etc; huge shopping mall with a range of fashion, tech, cards etc & restaurant options; all within 5 minutes walk from our location. The gardens at the back of the development are lovely, well maintained, thriving on a nice day and a nice contrast to the modern architecture in the area. We are also 5 minutes walk from Canary Wharf tube station which gets us into Central London in around 15 minutes.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish we’d known how good it was – and we wish we’d checked the size of the main bedroom bed as it is a king and we brought sheets for a double! Also take note that the hob is induction.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any issues we have raised have been dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Nice area with amazing staff in building but clueless management

Design – It’s a modern building with no soul and some of the interior room design is obviously for looks than practicality.

Facilities – The coffee machine is good but limited working space in communal areas. Minor point but the TV in the communal area doesn’t have BT sports despite being advertised as such.

Building management – The onsite staff are excellent, very helpful, attentive and personable with residents in the building. Any issues or just a chat, the front desk team are great and the best part about the building.

Property management – The worst part of living was having any interaction with CWG. The onboarding team constantly moved the goalposts and it was impossible to get in touch with them when I had queries pre-move in. The CWG letting team is incredibly unresponsive if there are issues with tenancy, whether this is due to lack of resource or just poor communication I’m not sure. Generally unfriendly to deal with also.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Canary Wharf is surprisingly a nice area to live in with good local utilities, shops and easy transport links to the centre of London. Limited open space (expected) but only 10 minutes from Greenwich park on the DLR.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There are a lot more students than you’d expect in the building and some of the residents have no respect for the building itself or the other residents.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Anything on site the staff is great and attentive. Some very strange rules such as not allowing pets to use the communal back garden without being on a leash, despite being a pet-friendly building. The onsite events are a bit of a damp squib also, with high prices for not much product.
