Pretty but not practical.

The roads are way too narrow. Considering someone just designed this there isn’t a single road two cars can fully drive down next to each other (opposite sides). Often narrowing at corners and when roads meet which is just ridiculous.
Buildings do look lovely but not laid out very well, I have to walk through my living room to do anything! Including bringing shopping in from the car muddy shoes everywhere.
& my neighbour is the only one without their own access pathway so every single visitor stares straight into our window (yay!). Design fail!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We finally have a shop, but still awaiting a pub! It would be lovely to have an almost self-sufficient village one day.
I can’t understand why people park on the roads, on corners and generally anywhere to be a nuisance. But apart from that I can’t really complain. Peaceful and a lovely place to raise my family

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How expensive the rent is. I can’t swap into a much needed bigger house as they are all way cheaper!!

Mostly amazing a few niggles

The developed parts should by now have the roads finished. I’ve had to replace 6 tyres in 3 years living here from builders dropping nails and screws. Paths are dangerous as not finished off.

School on greene street either needs a better solution to drop off and collection as they block roads, block junctions it’s quite dangerous.

Parking on roads is frustrating as all have driveways so double yellow lines would be perfect to stop that.

Residents have made it a community. Everyone supports local businesses. We have the memorial that was sorted by residents.

It’s a beautiful place to live where everyone wants a chat. It’s lovely

The development will be stunning when it is finished. But the unfinished roads are causing damage to cars. The paths have raised iron works which is a trip hazard. To get from our driveway to the road it’s a large drop off the kerb that is so say dropped.

Parking is ample as long driveways. People still park on the roads or up the kerbs. Double yellow lines would be stop that. Everyone has parking and there is parking lay-bys around. People just park on the road which looks messy and cluttered. The school on greene street needs to find a better way to drop off and pick up. People block the estate.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Talk to people. Everyone is friendly. If you have a dog the walks are amazing

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not to badly. Takes a while to get things done but they were done after a lot of chasing

Very thought out development for families

We moved into Tadpole Farm in 2014 and It took a while for the facilities to arrive e.g bus service, school and local convenience store and we are still waiting for the medical store and pub.
The town centre is slightly further away then we would have liked and no direct bus service to orbital.
Design of the development is good as the gardens of the properties meet at the rear which makes it more secure, and there are shortcuts to get to the school or parks while walking.
The open spaces are well kept and clean development overall.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

the location is perfect for raising a young family with school and parks nearby and away from any noise. Bigger department stores are close by and the motorway is easy accessible.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is only fibre optic broadband available and one supplier of it which is BT, and unfortunately even after 6 years no new supplier to give the, competition

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Sovereign have not been reliable in returning calls and sorting out issues when brought up to them e.g tiles falling from the roof which is very dangerous. Neighbours also had same problem.

Lovely area, Just a shame the developers are absolute rubbish and dont fix things.

Development of the building is OK, clearly thrown together by young apprentices with no due care and attention to the finished product, Flats are fairly spacious however designed in an odd manner, Our flat has the luxury of having no opening windows in the Stairwell,. So you can imagine in the summer it is horrendously hot throughout the halls. Cracking windows found throughout the property (expected in a new build) however no care has been taken to correct these measures, had to wait 3 months for someone to come fix our leaking bath that hadn’t been installed properly, Toilet installed at an angle so difficult to get off and on it (especially if disabled).
Cheap whitewall paint used in all the flats, no carpets installed (common nowadays). Fittings and fixtures OK, nothing special, budget brand stuff for the flats.
Lovely area to live in, but will 1000% not be looking to purchase a first time home here (social tenant currently) and will be looking much further afield for a property, whilst avoiding anything being touched by Sovereign housing association, have had numerous conversations with them and call outs about things wrong with property that have never been dealt with, had to pressure them 4 times to come out to sort our bath leaking, which was found to be the Overflow the apprentice that fitted it clearly forgot to even bother sealing it in place! suspect mould probably growing under the bath for the next tenant to find and have to deal with.

Overall: Area tadpole is located is lovely, good walking spaces, local fields, few shops, Nice people, just a shame the developers have clearly made their money and aren’t interested in fixing any previous build problems, just patch over them and continue building more shit paper houses!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Local Sainsburys has a monopoly on the entire village, prices clearly jacked up to reflect this, 20%+ more expensive than other local shops. Very easy for most with a brain to notice.
transport links are good, local bus stop.
Parking is the worst I have ever seen in swindon, No thought to visitors or guest parking, property we are situated in (54 Mackay Cresent, Block of white flats) Only 8 spaces for 8 flats. Anyone with multiple cars has a nightmare trying to park anywhere. no additional thought to parking. clearly designed for maximising profits and no thought to parking at all.

Anti social behaviour quite high for the affluent area it portrays, however this is quite common in swindon due to a multitude of factors ( local council doesn’t care about local population, lack of jobs, lack of stimulation for the town economy, businesses rapidly leaving the centre of town is a big red flag)/
traffic is OK, but made worse by poor parking considerations.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Average, Little to no communication from them, not willing to fix issues highlighted in snagging. Had to ask several times for Bath to be resealed as was leaking. Still haven’t had windows fixed and sealed. Hope the new people that move in enjoy the mould that’s been gathering under the bath, I’m sure sovereign will be super fast to sort it out (Probably wont get back to you for about a year or so or when they can be bothered). Bit of a shambles of a developer to be honest. wouldn’t buy from them or recommend.
