About Millgate
Milgate Homes were established in 1987 are one of the pre-eminent house builders in the Berkshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, West Sussex, Kent and Oxfordshire areas.
Of the numerous developers we visited, Millgate very clearly outperformed the rest both in design/quality of the property and in sales/customer service. The design of the property included multiple unique features such as wider toilets on the ground floor, underfloor heating and wall to ceiling mirrors whilst the quality outshone all of the other property viewings we had seen. The customer service team were very polite and attentive during our customer journey even after purchase.
This gorgeous hybrid-working commuter location has plenty of green space for any length of walk and has multiple nearby town/cities including Wokingham, Reading, Guildford, Henley on Thames, Marlow and Bracknell.
I wish I knew more about the wider development timeline – Arborfield Green is in the later stages of it’s development including plans for a town centre.
Underfloor heating connected to different thermostats for localised climates around the property.
The house design is excellent but due to poor management of contractors during building about 50 instances/ faults re boiler, plumbing, electrical installations have had to be corrected. Millgate customer service has been inadequate to get speedy resolutions of problems. Millgate estate management of the parkland and trees has been poor( but now being corrected) before handover to ManagingAgents
Development of houses on parkland and woods.very convenient for Oxford, Abingdon. Transport needed.bin collections good. Some traffic noise from A 420
Get any faults in/ out of the house repaired as rapidly as possible.
Positively but slowly. Customer service only claims response 24 /48 hours from issues raised. Often takes longer and slow follow up with contractors to attend.
Happy with the developers and the design of the development as a whole. It is still yet to complete so we are still waiting to see the final result of nearby other homes.
The parking space for the front driveways could be made slightly bigger to allow more space for cars. Perhaps less green at the front.
Really happy with the area. Shops and supermarkets are nearby as well as the local train station so convenient to get into London. Nearby independent schools quite close to our door step. Plenty of parking available, although the drive way could be made better for more cars to park.
Asked more questions about the design aspects
They have been ok. Some issues could have been dealt with much faster and there are some areas where the after care can be improved upon
Poor security site ideally needs gates either to the whole site or to each phase. There have been some Burglars in the last year whilst has resulted in our neighbours car being stolen. Gates would also ensure the safety of children by slowing down deliver drivers
No car traffic noise but occasional trains pass but not significant sound. Friendly neighbours. Good parking for visitors
Had a very detailed handover
Majority but can be slow and requires reminders to chase things up
