Meyer Homes developments

Bishops Gate is a Meyer Homes development in South West London. The development is made up of 48 apartments, four retail units and 10 townhouses, all within a conservation area. Bishops Gate is conveniently located, only 200 metres away from Putney Bridge station.

The apartment block flanks the Fulham High Street on one side and looms not entirely attractively at one of the two short rows of houses on the other. Only the top floors have balconies which is disappointing. We tested how easily you can see into the houses opposite – and you can’t. Perhaps a wall of balconies would be too much for the house owners. On the plus side the top floor duplexes have wide terraces off the reception that look well over the top of the houses and it would take a heart of stone not be swept away by the views.” – HomeViews Property Pro on  Bishops Gate

Modern and clean

The house is great! Great quality build, we’ve had no issues with structural damages and it’s a comfortable home. The appliances provided are of top quality and the heating +insulation of the house is also very efficient! The views are also great as we face the park. Living in a gated development with underground parking makes us feel a lot safer especially considering the increase in car theft lately. The facilities the area has to offer are also great, it’s family friendly as there’re parks and schools and local supermarkets are easily accessible. The traffic in the area has increased over the last 6 months due to the Hammersmith Bridge being closed but hopefully thats temporary, we don’t get much noise or dust from this traffic which is fine.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Like – Family friendly area with parks and schools.
Dislike – The traffic makes commuting harder.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew that the amount of traffic was going to increase.

Really convenient

I’m really happy with my flat! It’s exceeded my expectations as its been built with high standards. Staff and building management are great, they deal with issues quickly and properly. The flat is big enough and has been fitted with high quality appliances. The area is safe due to the high police presence and cctvs. The development is also safe and quiet due to the fob access. The local area has some good facilities to offer, many locals shops.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Like – The transport links are great which makes commuting to worm easier.
Dislike – When theres a football game on, the area becomes very noisy.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I know the area quite well so theres nothing I wish I knew before moving in.

What is the best feature of your home:

The house has been built, fitted and designed well, they made a great use of the space.

Good location but poor building management

Overall the property is a good purchase, although there have been issues with the house that weren’t promptly followed up.
The area is conveniently close to central London and great in terms of shops and services.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The develoment is located conveniently close to connecting links, good schools, and plenty of amenities. The very busy road at the front is unfortunately spoiling the area, causing disturbing noise and pollution

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have preferred to know the flat would have had issues with heating

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not promptly unfortunately, although the concierge tries their hardest to be of assistance

Overall happy first time buyer

Very happy with the property purchase (1 year ago) as the location makes it extremely central, the flat was bought from new so fresh in design and structure. Some teething problems were to be expected when entering a new build (i.e. underfloor heating not working properly at first).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Very happy with how close the tube is (Putney Bridge), however the main road connection gets really busy most hours of the day with consequent noise and pollution

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The developer is quite new so maybe not fully experienced in terms of preventing structural issues or assisting during new emerging practicalities
